Fire Inside

HC keeps making me look smart.

AC didn't work, the gym had to be in upper 80 degree range and the gym floor was like ice. Players slipping and falling luck someone didn't get hurt. Ugly game with bad shooting for both teams. SK's Zach Kelch had a double double with 13&12.

Wow!!

Yeah he is in the 6-6 range. Shoots either hand for 5 feet in. Had a great summer with the Shining Stars. Dawn just not giving him a chance?

Cheeseman played well I thought. I have liked him since his middle school days. Ryle missed quite a few point blank contested shots. I didn't recognize any of their bugs other than Webster.

Don't know why he doesn't play Wurtz more.

Trent said you don't get better playing at home.

Game wasn't in single digits half way thru the first period.

Two fouled out...Josh and Zach.

Ugly Ugly game. Whistles every trip down court. Two flagrant fouls on GC.

Austin Fries (pronounced Freeze) had 29 and 13 against Mason County last night.

I like the attitude. Mason got very chippy when they got down by 20 plus and the SK kids never backed down. Refs got whistle happy late in the 3rd and all of the 4th quarter. Made for a long second half. Pig for Mason picked up a T for hitting the ref in the face with the ball. Not hard, just flicked the ball at him and hit the ref. I didn't see it but everyone sitting around me said he did it. Cottrell for SK got a T for talking trash to a Mason kid after a jump ball. Cottrell didn't see the floor again for SK. The biggest thing I see from this SK team is the players all like each other and enjoy playing with each other. I don't think that has happen in the last few years at SK, to many personnel agendas on those teams. I like how lively the bench was cheering on the players on the floor. I know its only one game but I like this team. Be very interested to see the attitude after a loss. Like Mike Tyson said everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth. We need to see their reaction after getting punched in the mouth and getting a W.

Only time will tell. I know he has some foot issue to deal with first.

Well I get to look smart for a little while with that post.

Mason @ SK

Actually the Batavia was up 2 with a few minutes to go and won the 2nd half by 8. Game was physical ugly Scott ball.

Cov Cath without Flood and CVH beat Oak Hills both halves. Walters has improved.

I really think there is. I don't see CC running away and hiding from anyone in the 9th. Cooper, NCC, Newport will be very solid. One injury for any of these teams will hurt their chances. If Arnold and Moore can give Holmes quality minutes they will be solid. I look for the 9th to be the wild wild west this season. Anybody can win on any given night.

CC will be good but not top five in state good. I still think Cooper wins the 9th and Sean McNeil becomes the top player in the 9th. Don't base your opinion of this Cooper team on their first meeting with Cov Cath in December. Hendrix will just be getting out of football and will need at least a month to get into a rhythm. Cant wait to see them play in March.

Ben Weyer is per his Twitter. At his house, at 3:30.

Boys 10-12th grade

I received an email today from AAU saying nationals are going back to Orlando? I thought Lville was perfect for the college coaches to watch games.

He scored a bunch against Knott County Central too.

Another player that will be on this list by season end is Dante Hendrix at Cooper. He is the straw that stirs the drink for Cooper. Has never really gotten the hype in my opinion for what he does. If he comes out of football playoffs healthy he will have a big season for Cooper.

My top five would be: Players McNeil CVH Weyer/Wilson tied Snapp If Goetz has any help so teams cant chase him all night, I look for him to continue what we seen in the regional tourney and this summer. Teams Campbell Cov Cath Newport NCC Cooper, Cooper can move up very quickly if they have any bench what so ever. Mcneil, Hendrix and Kunkle will be a tough match up night in and night out.
