This is a tough one for John Hardin. They play Central Hardin, Meade County, WC, South Warren, North Hardin, Christian County and their district games. I am hoping they can finish the regular season 7-3. I think they will make the state semifinals again and play either WC or SW to play for the title.

Although this has nothing to do with this year, the 2017 JH team is a once-in-a-25-year team. While the 2011 team was loaded, we all know Jeremy Harness made them special. The Witherspoon kid has the potential to be a game changer just like Harness. Exception is Witherspoon was 6'2" last year as a Freshman and is probably still growing. Kid is a beast.

I would have to agree with East Raider on the speed point. E-Town is not even in the same league as JH as far as speed. I saw PT only once two years ago in a scrimmage with JH and WC and they did not have as much speed as the Bulldogs.

No one really has minus Graves last year. JH gave them two hard fought games though and Central Hardin could have a similar make up next year.

Even though the game means little in 5A, I have to say the BG better watch out for Central Hardin. As talented and physical a team that they will see all year.

I think 4A is wide open this year. As a JH fan, I am very interested in the SW/JH game early in the year, even though if they were to meet again in the playoffs the game would mean little at that point. After this year, forget about it. The title goes through JH.

Central Hardin's senior class is their best and most talented class in a long time IMO. Like Varneystone said, they lost some studs at the skill positions and losing Krupinski at QB is a huge loss. But I think the defense returns around 8 kids and their O-Line will be good so I think they will pick up where they left off last year. I am not sure what Bowling Green has, but I don't see anyone beating them this year during the regular season. They have one more year where they will beat John Hardin before John's youngens are upper classmen and I don't see Boyle, PT, or SW beating them. Not sure what district they will match up with during the 6A playoffs, but Central Hardin should be primed for another deep playoff run.

But you're still going to lose so who cares.

I thought going into this that Taylor and North Hardin were the two best teams in the 5th and I still think they are. I don't think Bardstown has the size to beat Taylor and I think Taylor is slightly more athletic. I think they will win by 8-10 points.

I think E-town is going to be down the next few years. I think they graduated 9 seniors and I don't think they are particularly strong with their upcoming classes. Taylor has been the favorite to come out of the 5th Region all year and I think they will take care of business against Bardstown.

E-town has a lot more than just Boley. I would be shocked if anyone can beat them this year.

That stinks for the #3 team.

First game will be very tough for them.

I think Taylor County and North Hardin are the two best teams, but they will have to play in the semi finals if they both win. I would have to go with Taylor County in a close game if that happens. I think either Bardstown or Elizabethtown will come out of the top part of the bracket. Either way, I think Taylor will end up winning the region.

Going to be a tough game for Boyle. I think this will be Central Hardin't best team in many, many years. Their senior class is unreal.

Feel sorry for the 6th region.

Not in 2016 or 2017 they won't be. They won't get out of their region those two years.

While the old saying anyone can be beat on a given night is true, especially in basketball, I just don't see it happening. Elizabethtown has everything: size, strength, speed, shooting, great defense, athleticism, etc. They are the total package and I don't see anyone beating them.

Elizabethtown is a machine. Nothing else needs to be said about them.

Don't count out Elizabethtown in the top part of the bracket. I actually think they will beat Caverna and they lost to Bardstown by 1 point a few weeks ago and I am not sure if the Patterson kid even played in that game. He struggled this past week in his first two games back from that wrist injury in Districts but I think he will be a difference maker this next week.

I'm with Ed on this. I think they can manage 7-3 or 6-4. They will lose to Central Hardin and the Meade County, South Warren, Warren Central, and Christian County games could go either way. They will easily win their district and be ready for the playoffs.

Not sure what South Warren brings back but I have to assume they will be a very good team. I have also heard Warren Central brings back a lot of talent, despite having a new coach again this year. I don't see John beating Central Hardin this year and I don't know what Meade has but they are always tough. Quite frankly, I would be surprised if JH started the season 5-1 or 4-2. Too tough a schedule for a weak senior class and an overall young team.

Just looking at the early part of the season they could easily go 3-3 or 2-4 to start the season off. Central Hardin's seniors will be their most talented class in a long time in my opinion and teams like SW, WC and Meade County will be tough. Much like last year, though, it will prepare them for their district and the playoffs.

I think the South Warren game is down in Bowling Green. They certainly could win 4A next year, but I still think they will lose some games early. Next year's senior class just isn't that strong. Now, beginning in 2016, if they get beat, I will be shocked. I think from 2016-18 they will be as good as anyone in the state in any class.
