  1. I'm not disagreeing with you - just making the point that there are other examples of high schools with this setup.
  2. Dixie has Visitors side stands
  3. In addition to SK, off the top of my head in N Ky alone the following teams have their team benches opposite the main grandstands: Highlands Campbell Co Beechwood Dixie ...I'm sure there are a few more. I figure it's their home field, so it's their right to stand wherever they want free of cheerleaders, bands and screaming fans.
  4. Terrible game. As I recall, St Henry was missing three starters that game.
  5. Interested to see how this team does this year. They ran so much offense thru Savanna Neace last year, although I thought she was more of a defensive presence than anything. Will have to overcome height with quickness and ball handling which I think they will have. No bell cow player, but they have good overall talent and depth. The lone Senior is Taylor Potts who will probably swing between the 2 & the 3 spot. Paige Noble is an athlete who can play just about any spot but Point. Others who will get looks to start or get starting minutes: Marlena Kellam PG, Abby Benson PG, Maddie Darlington SF or PF, Anna Voskuhl PF or C, Lauren Ackley G, Faith Kosco and Sydney Millay at Guards. One player I'm interested in seeing how they use is Frosh Chisolm Iloegbunam (pronounced like "aluminum). Physically ready- makes great space- soft touch around the basket. Will be tough to keep her off the court. I expect this is a team who will need to take some time to figure out what it can do offensively, but will continuously improve as the year goes on. Go Cru!
  6. Prayers out to Brian and his family- great kid and praying for him now.
  7. Madison Southerns first two TD's vs Grant were the result of short fields from a blocked punt (where they drove in @ 30 yards from there) and a fumble recovered at @ Grants 5 yard line. Grant then drove down and made it 14-7. So Grant gifted them 14 points off the bat making it tough to overcome. Having said that, Cov Cath can not afford to give Madison Southern the same kind of gifts. Nor can they hurt themselves by extending the opponents drives with silly penalties like they did against Anderson. Focus on stopping the run and pick up the slots, TE's and RB's streaking down the hashes on passing downs. Conversely on offense, you have to establish the run which I'd like to think Cov Cath can do with their personnel.
  8. Run, run, run, run, play action pass, run, run, run, play action pass, run, run, run...rinse and repeat. Solid run game that sets up a solid play action pass game. QB throws a nice ball.
  9. Sometimes it's idea to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and confirm it. Clueless.
  10. If that's true, then the "Crazies" have no excuse not to be there. I'm calling you out "Crazies"- your attendance has been pitiful
  11. Hilarious- we've got one HC fan pounding another HC fan for not being a big enough "fan". Parents are great.
  12. Darn- and here I thought you were just a concerned citizen. The money they received (by applying for an NFL grant- maybe you should try it) covered maybe half the actual expense for new turf. If they really could afford it and the surrounding issues with the city weren't really an issue, you don't think they would put them up? What on Gods green earth did they have to benefit from no lights? Cov Caths own people have been screaming for them forever. Fortunately it looks like they are on the brink of making it happen.
  13. Not going to argue that there are other great players, but the younger McGinness would be doing the exact same thing and maybe more if he were playing on Beechwoods Varsity instead of Cov Cath's Freshman team.
  14. Oh yeah- that too! Seriously though- terrific talent. Does things with the ball in his hands that very few can. Will be fun to watch he and this group grow over the next few years. Good ingredients in this class. Terrific line- best among N Ky Frosh IMO. This group didn't even play with Coldiron this year due to an injury and that young man could have made as big an impact as McGinness in different facets of the game.
  15. Ryle has Cov Cath at Ryle Thu night
  16. In the past 4-5 years, Cov Cath has played Ryle, Campbell Co., Dixie, Beechwood, Boone Co Conner and of course Highlands, multiple times. Cov Cath has not ducked any N Ky competition. And it never bothered me that Highlands played fewer N Ky teams since they clearly filled it with GCL teams and similar.
  17. Not sure how this Dixie thing is working. They seem to picking and choosing who they do and do not play. Canceled against Cov Cath and now seemingly Highlands, but they have played other "big schools" along the way?
