  1. Guess that I'll have to carry the torch for Cov Cath. Alex Wagner- Safety Ben Zumdick- Safety Cam Pitzer- LB Nate Bailey- NG Jake Stiens- DE Sorry- everyone else was doing it. (Like we expected anything less .
  2. I don't think SK would take Bryan Station this year. Too much speed.
  3. Only the Soph kicker to my knowledge.
  4. This is correct- simply to get them exposed to Varsity game day etc. the only time I've seen a Frosh QB get snaps ( or any Frosh for that matter) is the last couple minutes of a running clock blowout.
  5. OK- I wasn't aware of that- someone last year was telling me the Frosh win was the first at any level since '06. I knew the JV game a couple years ago was a barn burner down to the last possession.
  6. Not surprised at all- just here in N Ky 6A in recent years you have had Dixie, Boone, Ryle and Campbell (I believe) playing some kids both ways.
  7. Should have phrased it as- last year when the Cov Cath Frosh won, it was the first time beating Highlands at any level (Frosh, JV and Varsity) since 2006.
  8. Just heard the 2nd half on radio. CCH Angel with 1st half TD from Hentz. CCH Best with TD on screen pass from Hentz @10 yard line Highlands Hergott (?) from @3 yard out for a TD. Lined up for a two point conversion but Cov Cath sniffed it out in the backfield. CCH Tuemler on a reverse from the 14 yard line on a 4th and @ goal. Off and on rain probably made the pass game tough on both sides. Sounds like Hentz to did a nice job managing the game and taking off out of the pocket when the opportunity was there. I know it was Cov Cath radio but they mentioned that Highlands just physically looked a little smaller than in years past. So - I understand that last year marked the first time a Cov Cath team has beaten Highlands at any level since 2006 when the freshmen won. Now the JV does it a year later. I can agree with Frosh games not indicating much more than talent - now JV (IMO) is a much better indicator of what bodes for the future. This is next years group. I think even the most ardent Highlands fan has to look at the reality that the tide is turning.
  9. Has had a few varsity snaps. Thing is, this group of WR's have some very talented upperclassmen in it - the other Soph's time will come starting next year. He needs to improve his speed and route running IMO.
  10. Boone and Dixie cancelled the week prior to the games. Boone claimed they were double booked with soccer - (not sure how that happened). Dixie bowed out as they couldn't play on Labor Day. Again- don't ask me how that wasn't noticed months ago when they put the schedule together. Hey - it happens I guess- just hate it for all the kids on both sides.
  11. Would shock me if they had sustained success running against Moeller. Throwing maybe.
  12. After seeing them play two years in a row, I don't think they are quite as good as last year- but that's not saying much as they are still very very good. All incredibly physical and fast. Two big tight ends. Speedy RB. QB won't beat you much with his feet, but very nice arm and manages game well. Their run defense is nasty. Could be more susceptible to the pass game if you know where the spots are.
  13. "...I award you zero points- and may God have mercy on your soul."
  14. No- we aren't doing this Besides- last years game was nothing to crow about. SK scored twice early in the 1st on two Highlands fumbles very deep in their own territory. The rest of the game it was dead even.
  15. Very surprising. So how did Campbell do it? Running? Throwing? Who looked good for both teams?
  16. Think someone said it was Brown, from another thread.
  17. ...and your the only one on BGP who thought I needed to know that. Just ponderous.
  18. Is Woodlands the ONLY school that feeds Scott? Is Summit View the ONLY school that feeds Simon Kenton. If so then you MAY have a point. Sheeze.
  19. There is a limit- thought it was 6 quarters per week- maybe even 5(?) Guess I've always been of the opinion that if you play up you stay up.
  20. Is there not a KHSAA limit to how many quarters you can play in a week?
  21. Yes- he played last night. Been injured up till now I think. Difference IMO was obviously Cov Cath's run game and Cooper not adjusting quick enough to defend it- or defend it well enough. Cov Cath could get nothing going early on with the run/ pass mix. When they went almost exclusively run with some quick passes sprinkled in, it really chewed up the clock and I think, wore Cooper down. Cooper has some nice players in #3 and #24. Cov Cath's RB's Dyer and DeFraites had very good games. Maile was a beast at LB. Deters played very well at Guard and LB.
  22. Let's quit acting like Cov Cath fans (ie: parents) have cornered the market on arrogance. Heck, the same attitudes prevail EVERYWHERE. The Highlands game will be a good one- no one I know in the program was smiling after the Bryan Station game- too busy licking their wounds from a pounding at Moeller. Sweep is right- the only people running their mouths about Cov Cath beating Highlands are non Cov Cath people. Too many years and losses to do otherwise.
  23. I guess until you play Moeller you"ll never know.
  24. Kicker is fine within probably 15-20 yards. But I don't blame Cov Cath for going for it at all. 3 points was never going to be the difference in a game like that. Got to be a little unconventional playing a team like Moeller.
  25. Then how in the world do you find the time to do anything else once a post by SKFan pops up? .
