  1. i really don't see oc that high...they're thin, thin on pitching...if shelton is going to be their ace, then that district is ready for the taking...i could be wrong, and that's not said as an attack on her, she's a great kid, but leanhart in the circle really carried them last few years, and they lost some power, as well....rigdon will be back healthy, so that is a plus for them...north jumping out and playing the other three 29th teams in the first ten days will give a good nod on how that district will match up fo' sho'.
  2. oldham co. will fall off this year...collins will improve...north oldham will certainly improve....i'd say anderson co. wins 8th.
  3. this is going to be a fantastic tournament...Male's 2nd game of the season will be against Greenwood...love to see this kind of competition right out of the gates to start the season
  4. good for her...she'll be playing for a fellow Kentuckian...hope she does well.
  5. got to think chapman from lone oak will be the star in the circle...she was tough as nails for a freshman last year....talked to a few of my softball friends that are parents out there, and they all said they'll be some transfers over time, not so much over this first couple years, but other schools in the area like tilghman, marshall county, ballard memorial may see some of the younger ones who may be disenchanted....this consolidation has certainly been the topic on everyone's mind this off season....i'll get to see them early in the season at the big e'town tourney....still can only have 9 girls on the dirt at once, so I'd say the heath girls may have the toughest path to the field, with the coach coming from reidland and lone oak having a great history....i say livingston central stuns them in the first week of the season!!
  6. i just read on anohter board about this...guess these are committed players...i'd be PISSED if i was that ump....probabl yanother reason i could never be a ump!!
  7. girl finally hit her spot
  8. still time to join...hopefully the 9th Region coaches will get on board.
  9. Male played in 2012...will be back this year, and requested first pool game to be AL 6A state champion Sparkman who knocked us out last time....Assumption and Ballard have been there in past few years, as well, and done well....Assumption ended up final 4 in 2012 behind Morgan Foley's arm....Sparkman bounced them also
  10. Bob Jones HS Tournament in Huntsville, AL....may be full at this point though....if not it's some of the best competition in the south
  11. Thanks, ya'll!! She's walking on air right now. Also found out yesterday that she'll be reuniting with one of her former Male HS teammates, 2012 grad Katie Watson, who will be transferring in next fall from Lake Land JUCO....and that her first college games in spring of '15 will be at University of Alabama, which is pretty awesome.
  12. best of luck to your players...exciting times
  13. sundays can be pretty thin, for sure
  14. The point is these are showcases, not tournaments....every conversation I have ever had with a college "recruiting" coach has been the same regarding this: Let. Them. Hit......for them, there is no flip side, and they and the players are all that matter....they have an EXTREMELY limited window of opportunity to scout players, and coaches who bring their team to a pure showcase situation, ESPECIALLY in the fall, and has the "game strategist/play to win" mentality is, IMO, doing a tremendous disservice to the players AND parents, and is broadcasting to those recruiters that "this organization/team does not understand the process"......it's not a combine....there is still a competitive game to be played, but through the prism of allowing the players to showcase for the coaches they have invited to come watch/recruit them....not for the "W", that is meaningless in this arena.
  15. Believe the new coach at N.O. is Erick Anderson, who has most recently been Asst at Southern HS in Louisville, and has been involved with the Derby City Crush travel organization, as well. I've known Erick for a few years or more, and couldn't be happier for him. He is a good man, and will be a great coach for the players at N.O.
  16. did moss and kennaw not make it through the summer?
  17. Looks pretty conclusive to me. Good thing this wasn't a one run outcome or these pics would rank up there with the Zapruder film and the "Magic Bullet" theory in NKY for years to come. :sneaky:
  18. If they were against them!! but you what they say about gift horses
  19. I don't usually bring umps up, but they had a definite and dramatic effect on this game. Both teams played equally hard, and had equal pitching and hitting stats. Two botched calls swung the favor to SC, though, and that is what it is. Don't know where this umpire crew was from, but they were poor. This is the State Tournament, and if the game is just too big for you to handle, blue, check out and let someone else of higher capacity take over. These are the best teams and they deserve the best umps. OK, off my chest...
  20. webster is probably right...i know maddie's team has scheduled games in chicago area that weekend....if you don't accept an invitation, you aren't listed on the team.
  21. CONGRATULATIONS TO NDA AND TO HAYLEE!!! See you all Thursday in O'boro!! We'll try to hit up Ol' Hickory for some BBQ :hungry:
  22. Ann-ti-cipation....Ann-ti-cipay-yay-shun
