Total Bull:poop: The folks at HC should have been communicating with the folks from NKU and between the two you would think they would have been able to figure out how to get it done. Pure laziness on someone's part.

Oh so they aren't playing for the Boone County Board of Education Conner HS team? The Boone BOE has a rule about Sunday play and I can't believe it has anything to do with school being in our out, as during Christmas Break they can't play on a Sunday either!

I have no clue why the tarp wasn't on the field and if HC should have made sure it was. HC's AD does a good job and I am sure she wanted this thing done today. HC is the host but they do not make any more money than the rest of the teams in the field and have to do a hell of alot more work. (which is dumb if you ask me) So I know the 9th region pays NKU for the rental and the mantaince of the field, not really sure if they didn't want to put it on or what but they are being paid so I am not sure they should have to be told how to maintain their field.

 

NKU is the worst field in the region for the fans, I used to say we should always hold it up there but I don't think so any more. The only place you can really watch the game is in stands right behind the plate.

When the All "A" semis and finals were held at NKU we were in the same position as HC. Now I am not blaming Ann for this. However in our situation, after the 2nd All "A" semi final game was over on that Thursday night, I got on the PA system and asked for several parents to help put the tarp on the field, since we knew it was supposed to rain the following day. NKU staff was there to help, and it took about 20 people a total of no more than 5 minutes to rollout the tarp and cover the field.

Ninth Region softball championship postponned

 

Inclement weather is interfering with the Ninth Region softball tournament championship game, which has been rescheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday following Friday's postponement due to rain at Northern Kentucky University.

 

Notre Dame Academy, the 35th District champion and top-ranked in the final Enquirer Northern Kentucky coaches' poll, is set to play second-ranked Conner, champion of the 33rd District. Both won Thursday semifinals.

 

With threatening weather in the forecast Saturday, Pandas coach Joe Stephenson and Cougars coach Kristin Koors agreed that a Sunday final would be best. Boone County high school sports teams are not permitted to play on Sunday, but Conner athletic director Tom Stellman received special permission from superintendent of Boone County Schools, Randy Poe.

 

The Pandas, 27-7 overall and 21-0 against regional opponents, are seeking their first regional title since 1999. They're riding a 12-game winning streak. The Cougars (23-10) are in the final for the seventh year in a row and last won the crown in 2009.

 

"The girls are disappointed, but they remain focused," NDA coach Joe Stephenson said. "They've had one goal in mind all year, and they're still focused on achieving that goal."

This tournament would be over by now if it wouldve started monday just like every single region in the state. Dont believe me...look it up.
