Just because you collect a decent pension does not mean you cannot have a really bad day. Getting grilled on a witness stand and having to admit you have withheld evidence and had an affair with the prosecutor is still a pretty bad day IMO. I would bet this is one of the 10 most stressful and worst days of his life...and that may be a conservative estimate.

If you think you are having a bad day, just think of McVay...his day today has been much worse...

This is the first time I have really read through this case thoroughly. All I have to say is YIKES! This looks like a Hollywood movie script...cannot make this up. I feel so bad for the family. Even they have to have doubts about whether the guy in jail did this...

I understand what you are saying now but in regards to what GCL teams need for their schedules, I disagree. GCL teams already play a very tough schedule and in some cases, a murderous schedule. They don't need to be tested any more than they already are. The GCL schools already play 3 tough conference games, typically will play Cleveland St Eds and/or Ignatius, a very good Indy school like Chatard or Cathedral and a very good Ky team like Trinity or X. Throw in one of the early games against an out of town school like Don Bosco and you have a brutal schedule. I have not even mentioned Colerain who Cincy X and Lasalle typically play. If you take one of those games out and sub in a SK, the GCL schools would still be playing a very tough schedule...and they would love the Harbin points and the extremely good chance at getting a W.

I am not sure I understand this post. Are you saying that the GCL schools would not schedule SK but would rather play X or Trinity? If so, I would disagree. As a 6a school that will win 8+ games most years, SK is perfect for those schools as they get secondary Harbin points for each game SK wins (besides getting more Harbin points for the fact that SK is a large school). Also, SK is much closer for their fans if they play a home and home series. Finally, the GCL teams all figure they will beat SK much easier than Trinity or X.

I would be shocked if any of the GCL schools would say no to SK. SK would be a PERFECT school for them to play, even better than HHS when they played them. SK is going to win a lot of games and is a big school. That translates into a "Harbin Cow" for the GCL team if they would beat SK (and I am sure all the GCL schools are confident they can beat SK any given year). GCL schools have a lot of trouble finding games locally. I am SURE they would LOVE to play SK every year.

I think a better solution would be to call a jump ball and no foul on either player. I would rather one too few fouls be called than one too many. JMO... It was especially egregious last night because TWO guys fouled out on the same play...don't see that happen very often.

I have seen Chatard and Desales play over the years. Two VERY good programs...in most years, would be favored to beat CCH...who knows this coming year though. I am also intrigued about the Kings game. Solid program the last decade...should be a good game. I think this is a very solid, challenging schedule for CCH...

I was just asking the question regarding CCH - I have no idea whatsoever about their past scheduling. I just noticed that this year, they are not playing a big time school from Cincy as they have normally done in the past. As I said, I was not trying to stir the pot...I was just curious. Regarding HHS, they have IN THE PAST had trouble getting SOME schools in NKY to play them...hence games in Ohio and long drives in Ky. That has obviously not been a problem in recent years. Again, I am not trying to start a debate. I was just trying to get information on the CCH schedule.

I agree Ru. Do you think the lack of CCH playing a Cincy big boy is because they just want to make the schedule more realistic or does it mean CCH is not confident in their talent next year? I am not trying to stir the pot. I am just curious.

I am a HHS grad and knew Kevin and actually played baseball with him (he was a couple of grades ahead of me). Great guy and his involvement in the program can only be a good thing. I could not care less if he is paid or not. I wonder if him joining the staff in any capacity may lead to a more prominent role later. Either way, having quality people and good football minds around the football team is very positive for the program.

I am happy for the Birds players and coaches. I know they were expected to beat Grant Co. but this team needed a win desperately. Hope they beat Boone and then try to surprise some folks come playoff time...

That second game was one of the few (and I mean VERY few) times I thought Dale coached a bad game. The play calling was very conservative if my memory serves me correctly and it looked like he was playing not to lose...

In looking at the scores not much surprised me except that in the early to mid 70's, HHS shut out CCH FIVE years in a row...that is HARD to do...

Read what I typed. I have said more than once that the defense is overmatched physically. I even said Urban Meyer and Nick Saban could not take the HHS players and beat CCH last night. I also gave credit to CCH as I was impressed with their team (Mayer and McGinness specifically). I did not demean any other teams so for you to suggest that is frankly ridiculous. What I AM saying is that many much closer to the program than me (I am not close to the program at all), are not happy that they are seeing the same thing every week with no changes. If you are giving up 50 plus every week AND routinely giving up 500 yards rushing, you would think things would change...either in personnel or in scheme.

Actually, yes, I am going to question a kid for wearing ridiculous looking cleats that reek of a "look at me" attitude in a team sport. Now I don't know the kid at all and he may be the best team player on the team...but it LOOKS bad. I will also question his coach EVEN MORE for letting him wear those cleats. Not a good look at all IMO. Oh, and by the way, my life is just fine...
