It's now 4th and 12 for the Cards from the Tiger 45, so, they opt to punt and pin the Tigers back to there own 9 yard line... 1st and 10 Hop'town still 7-0 Tigers lead..

Jayden Stinson hits Jordan Harrison for a 34 yard TD, but, it's called back for an illegal procedure..

On the Cards 2nd offensive play, Hop'Town intercepts a Stinson pass as the Cardinal receiver fell down and it was taken to the house, so, with 10:03 to go in 1st, Hop'Town strikes 1st and goes up 7-0..

Just underway... Hop"town gets excellent return on opening kickoff all the way to the Cardinal 40 yard line.. Hop"town goes for it on a 4th and 5 from the 35, but, the Cards hold and take over 1st and 10 at own 35..

Liberty has turned into a powerhouse program in West Tn the past few years.. They're a relatively new program, but, they always have plenty of speed and athletes.. They've moved back into 4a this year, where they've been except for a couple in 3a.. They've been Milan's nemesis the past couple of years, knocking them from the playoffs earlier than they're used too.. Not sure what expectations are for Liberty this year, but, you can bet, they'll be a well coached, tough, hard nosed athletic team, as always..

I'm picking Reitz to win this one.. Just too many kids, better depth, better size and overall better talent... I do think OB Catholic will score some points here and likely keep it closer than they probably should.. I think we're looking at a 42-21 type score, imo..

Desales ... CAL did get them last year, but, prior to that 1 game, the Colts have dominated them and they have less questions coming in.. When you have a roster the size of Desales, it's not too difficult to fill the holes from graduation.. CAL .... They have the best player in the class and while they did lose several key linemen, they'll replace them with a quality player and do fine... Mayfield .... They did lose some key cogs to last years team, but, they still have plenty of weapons to go to as playmakers and speed to burn, especially on the defensive side. Improved line play will also help them remain a Top contender.. Danville .... Good, solid team, but, can't see putting them ahead of the 3 west powers until they play a few more games and have some impressive showings. LCA ..... Probably as good an offensive team as their is in 2a, but, they'll have to show me that there D is also state champion caliber and until tested, too early to say if that's the case or not..

Tilghman will have there hands full also.. Liberty Tech out of Jackson, Tn was 3a runner ups to Alcoa last year and have athletes all over the place.. They recently moved down to 3a, as they were in 4a until a couple of years ago and won a lot of games there, as well.. They've been Milan's nemesis the last couple of years, knocking them out of the playoffs a lot earlier than they're used to..

I was checking out Max Preps state rankings and Class 2A has 5 teams ranked in the Top 25 in the state, matching 5a.. 6a had 9 teams, 3a had 4 and 4a had 2.. None in 1a.. That's pretty impressive for the 2nd smallest class..

This should be a fairly even matchup.. I'd give Caldwell a slight edge, but, very slight..

Surprised that Highlands isn't somewhere in the Top 10.. They've had a couple of subpar teams for there standards, but, I'd still be surprised if they aren't one of the best 10 once the dust settles..

I don't think this one will be that close.. The Tigers will probably score one or two times late to make it respectable..
