  1. I would love to see cov Cath move to 5A, would give NKY 4 shots at bringing state titles to the area. 1A, 2A, 4A and 5A.
  2. Hey sweeper, go check your posts.....it's ok though, like most HHS fans, you have a very selective memory. I'm to lazy to copy and paste ATM, but you absolutely said I was "bashing". Lol, before denying it, you should have edited it????
  3. Yes, mayfield...... Don't get your panties in a bunch, was a mistype. It's funny however, that the mayfield fans think its theirs to lose lol
  4. Here's all you need to know for NKY. Three teams will have a legit shot at winning a state title this season. Highlands is a lock in 4A. It Will be a three horse race in 2A with NCC, somerset and Caldwell county. Beechwood will have to get past maysville in 1A. Everyone else in NKY can't win a title. Now, there's no need to play the season lol.
  5. LOL, who is bashing? That's a classic comeback to anything not stroking the egos of the "Christian" neighbors in ft Thomas. Your probably one of those people driving around with the "highland alumni" sticker on your bumper......all I do is laugh when I see those. So sad.....
  6. I think it's funny how all you HHS fans claimed that dale would never be a part of something with Tom gambles name in it lol. It seems, EVERYONE has a price......
  7. Imagine that, HHS fans and dale having an issue with someone that has anything negative, true or not, to say about the program. SHOCKER!!!! Gamble, whether for selfish reasons or not, does a great job for these local kids. The exposure and big game experience they get, is unmatched for a regular season game. The kids love it. Take a look in the mirror, none of you rock throwers do your jobs for totally unselfish reasons????
  8. First round of the playoffs are generally bye weeks for the teams that are good. Don't tell me they won a few first round games and act like that means something. If your the number one seed in your district, your playing the worst team from the other district. If your 8-2 and losing in the first or second round, your probably not a good team. I think that's what Ram is saying.
  9. I always said somerset was a talented team. I felt they were more talented than NCC last season. That game was lost in the pregame because of a few undisciplined players. The personal foul late in the game didnt help them either. NCC was very banged up in the playoffs and if not for a 70 degree day in December, I honestly feel they beat Caldwell easily last year. I think if somerset had gotten past NCC, they handle Caldwell fairly easily as well. My gripe with somerset last year was, all their fans claimed the semi final game was the real title match. Then after NCC wins, their attitude changed, not giving NCC much of a chance against Caldwell.
  10. You know, 100% is way to high. I think somerset should be the favorite. Caldwell lost two key players, the WR and on o-lineman that was one of the few kids that played both ways. 54, I think his number was. IMO, the rest of caldwells defense was very suspect. I know what they got coming back (Caldwell), but I think it's a three horse race, somerset, Caldwell and NCC. In that order.
  11. You know though, I'm not sure how much that really matters. I know Eddie eviston was in the NCC building, wins a championship his first year, and was always in the ears of the kids not playing. Didn't seem to help increase the number of kids out for the team. Of course, when you have other sport coaches telling those same kids not to play, it doesn't help. That's for another thread, oh wait....we have tackled that already.
  12. Maybe combining cov Cath and NCC you might have a team that could beat HHS year and year out....adding Brossart to NCC would only make them slightly better. Same for cov Cath if you added holy cross to them. Combining all four would put them where? 5A? 6A? 5A you would dominate, 6A your good until the finals....damn you trinity......
  13. Yeah, someone would find a way to screw the system.....in some cases though, it wouldn't be so bad to cut players in high school football lol. I agree about there being too many catholic high schools in this NKY area.
  14. If, If, If...... Here's an idea, how about classifing football programs based on average roster sizes over the course of 3-5 years. HHS wouldn't like that, that would mean being put in trinitys class. You know what that means, no more state titles. Would def help some of these smaller programs that field 25-40 boys. Just an idea.
  15. Someone is fishing, I'm not gonna bite. Even though that bait looks delicious........
  16. I don't know mayfields coaches, so I can't speak to how well they coach. I will say this, having a really really good player doesn't take much coaching..... Now, as far as beechwoods coaches.....they are a really good group of guys that do an exceptional job at coaching. I don't think beechwood has been very good the last few years with the exception of 11. The 11 team I thought was pretty good but injuries at a small school are hard to over come. Rash is a fine coach that genuinely cares about his kids and program. Before voice chimes in with something negative. I said before, I didn't think the 10 team was in NCC's league, but you see it all the time. A much better team takes the other team lightly and you get beat. In 11, as good as I thought beechwood was, a level playing field, both QBs healthy, NCC was better. Voice, you brought up the fact beechwoods QB was out. It's much easier to prepare all week to go with the backup then to lose your starter in the game and try to win with a backup QB that took no reps during the week. And the game was still close.....the 12 team was just not very good, had some good players but that's all. They should be very good with the young guys they coming up.
  17. That 11 team was very good, I'm not disputing that. But a healthy hightchew and a healthy QB for you guys, NCC wins. Got your butts handed to you last season however. Just wasn't a very good beechwood team, all I was saying. Neither was the 10 beechwood team, But that's what you get in a rivalry game. The tigers have some serious talent coming up for the next few years. Oh by the way, the field goal was good. The dropped pass in overtime was not.
  18. Sorry bro, mayfield isn't in NCC's class and would have lost in 10, 11 and 12. I hate to burst your bubble. Would have been out played and out coached all three years, sorry.
  19. Yeah, we'll if you take away a blown call in 10 and hightchew not getting hurt in the first quarter of 11, you wouldn't be saying that and IDE still be saying the same thing. Took a blown call in overtime to beat NCC in 10 and with hightchew out most the game in 11, beechwood wins 29-20 at home. Lets not forget the bogus offside call on the opening KO which resulted in a rekick and a KO return in 11..... Honestly, the 11 beechwood team was the better of the last three seasons. By the way, NCC has won 2 out of the last 3 2A state titles, how many 1A titles has beechwood won in that time?
  20. From what I'm being told, if their are at least 14 they will play freshman schedule. But you know how that goes. If kids get banged up, then some sophomores may have to play down. I haven't even seen a schedule.
  21. Truth be told, last years beechwood team was not that good. Ide expect them to be really good the next few years.
  22. What ive found since ive started coaching. The only parents that normally have issues with certain coaching staffs are parents of kids that arent good enough to play. Those are the ones that generally make all the stink. They forget that its high school and not every kid gets to play. The ncc freshman team always has low numbers. In 2010 they only had 18, in 2011 ncc only had 16 and in 2012 they had 22. The problem is, only half those kids can play the game. Last season the small schools got together and excluded ncc from the schedule which forced ncc to play the bigger schools. Every game was competitive but they only won one game against dixie. Numbers played a major role.
  23. Never said blown out by Lloyd. As good as last years walton team was, they struggled with lloyd in the playoffs last year. Only team Lloyd would blow out would be holy cross. Been awhile since we heard anything from a HC fan, wonder why?
