Yes, do to injuries and only having 16 to start, some sophomores played down. The other teams head coaches were asked before hand to make sure there were no issues. The sophomores that played down were kids that didnt get much jv time.

No sophomores played freshman football last season at ncc. The freshman had 22 kids out for the team. It just so happens that jacob smith was moved up to the varsity level with about 4 games left on the freshman schedule.

Guess i should started that with...not that many when you look at the number of kids playing. And like i said, numbers lie.

So hard to resist....... Ima agree with joe here. The ncc parents And fans dont want this game. The ft thomas folks certainly do for every reason joe said and more. They would love to embarrass the ncc football team. I know it stings them every time a ft thomas kid decides to leave and go to ncc. I understand that year in and year out hhs would hand it to ncc.

Lets be honest, there just isnt that many head injuries in high school football and below. Sure, just on numbers alone it may seem like it, but you have to look at how many kids play football. The simple fact is, numbers can be used to reflect any side of the arguement you want. Lets not overlook the numbers that show there are more head related injuries in youth soccer than football. No one wants to talk about that. The problem is, parents see all the head related issues on espn and think it translates to the youth game. The game is just not as voilent at the high school level and below. Ncc is a prime example, 80 kids in the high school soccer program in 2012, only 60 for football. Pro football is a different beast entirely.

I don't know how or why you would think HHS offers better educational opportunities than NCC. How many HHS kids have scored a perfect 36 on their act recently? I don't believe parents send their kids to HHS over NCC for academics. For the majority of the athletes, they are at the school they are at for athletics. Truth is, I have great respect for what HHS has done on the football field. My problem lies with the arrogance of he parents and fans. God forbid someone have an opinion that differs from yours..... HHS parents that live within the district lines gripe and moan because their kid sits the bench behind kids that don't live in the ft Thomas district. I would not like it either. I'm guessing they would like it even less if their kid played and HHS was 2-8 instead of state champs. I would say this, if you want to win football games, you can't go wrong with either school. The difference is, you got a legitimate chance to play early in your high school years at NCC. More than likely, you may not play until your a senior at HHS. Before you HHS fans fly off the handle, I realize a few kids play early at HHS, the Harris kid for example recently. He's a prime example of a kid that doesn't live in the district and plays in front of kids that do. His brother went to ncc. everyone knows NCC is a private school, so is HHS. They are just listed as "public".

Don't forget that the HHS football teams, including the freshman, take charter busses to all their games. Who's funding that expense? No surprise they pay their coaches much more than other programs.

Here's a bombshell for you HHS people as well....collinsworth would have been the third RB in 10 for NCC behind cane and Kelly. Also, he wouldn't have beaten Hayes out. Digest that and get back to me.

I never said the collinsworth kid wasn't a good football player, I simply said he was not major D1 talent. I simply said, if his last name was smith, he doesn't end up at Norte dame. I watched the kid play and saw game film. I personally feel he wasn't as good a football player as Brady hightchew, but it is what it is. Being a cpl inches taller and having Chris collinsworth as your dad helps a ton. Now, with that being said, that doesn't mean he can't become a solid player for Norte dame as most kids will get bigger, faster, stronger in their first couple of years in college. I really don't know how much more informed I need to be. Here's a question, did the HHS coaching staff get exposed in the all star game....lol That's probably for another thread... .

Unfortunately, cooper will take a step back this year. It's a shame about the turnovers in the state title game, because cooper was clearly better than bowling green. Not saying they can't ever get back, but that was their best chance at a title and it may be for awhile. The JV and frosh talent is not real good coming up. There are a few players, but that's it. You can't replace those players cooper lost, that QB and thos two D-lineman were special players. Doesn't matter how good Morgan is if you can't get him the ball.

1991 was the year they moved down. Butts to Brandon was a good combo.

Yes, at that time 2000 yards was a big number. Gillum played at Cumberland, briefly I believe. Tassini was ahead of his time. That offense was up tempo with multiple audible checks. Defensively, he ran the 3-5 before there was a 3-5 defense lol. At the time, 3A was probably the toughest division in the state. Rumor is, the AD at lloyd dropped the ball on some paperwork that kept Lloyd in 3A that season. They were supposed to have moved down to 1A. In 1989 and 1990 Lloyd blasted beechwood both seasons, one of the best in 1A. who knows what that coulda meant as far as a state title for the juggs.

7 year, 97-03. 6 with packers, 1 with Vikings. You got to better than just "good" lol.

Guess all you guys forgot what it meant to have to win games lol. Couldnt go 3-7 and make playoffs (yes that was a jab at cchs being district champs in 11). Played an 11 game schedule back then, only 2 teams went to playoffs. Was cov Cath and Lloyd. Almost all those teams in nky were 3A then.

1. Billy Lyon - led a team of 40 kids to the 1990 3A playoffs, knocking highlands (defending 3A champs) out of the playoffs. Lloyd hall of fame, Marshall hall of fame. 3 time all-American at Marshall university, 7 year nfl veteran. 2. Greg Kunkel - Starting offensive lineman in college at UK and had an NFL tryout. 3. Mark Molitor - Starting QB on the 1976 undefeated state champion team considered one of the best teams ever in N. Ky. history. He played college baseball at Morehead. Jalani Brandon is probably 3 over molitor as far as top players to play at Lloyd. Johnson, might not make top 10. Rocky Asher, Brett Moses, devin pinkelton could make a case also.

Is one of those kids the wr from last year that got behind the NCC defense and caught that TD pass. If so, he is fast and pretty good. Just not that fast lol......

Nah, not trashing. I tell it as I see it. Most people can't handle the criticism on here and I find that hilarious. Most forget, it's just opinion. CCHS is CCHS, they have had good teams in the past, but they will never be consistently good. They are one of the biggest schools in the state and you field an average football team, and for most seasons, a bad football team. You think because lickert is from HHS that he going to bring that mojo to CCHS, you are all fooling yourselves. CCHS is a stepping stone for him and it will be for most coaches that come through there. Let me add, I think lickert is a fine football coach and the new staudium is spectacular. My opinion, he's waiting on the Ryle job, so he will have a chance to win in 6A. It's a shame, the parents are very passionate about CCHS football. The kids, for the most part, are not.

Such a laughable argument. Yeah, if you were in 2A you would have a state championship.....LOL. CCHS wouldn't have beat NCC in the playoffs, let alone somerset or Caldwell....LOL Just curious, have you ever talked to a coaching staff 3 months before the season starts and they haven't said, to the public, that they are excited about their team....LOL Yeah, once again, you beat NCC last season. Once again, I'll say it....you should, your a 6A school. With that being said, NCC had 6 key players hurt or out. Lets talk at the end of season, when your realizing how much a great player will be missed (Durham). And last year, you guys still didn't have a winning season....LOL
