  1. As you prob already have heard, Long might not be playing with them this year.
  2. Once School ball ends, every weekend has something AAU related. Having it during the weekend it is probably is the best possible weekend because there aren't any meaningful AAU events in the area until late April. IMO, the Bearcat classic is a good local tourney for teams to get experience, but its definitely not a tourney to change the date for.
  3. To be honest, getting an at large has been available to anyone for years. AAU doesn't reject anyone that wants to go to nationals.
  4. I get the point of your overall post, but Cincinnati is a much bigger city than Northern Kentucky and it would be a suprise if in a typical year, Northern Kentucky won more than 3 matchups if they were matched up evenly. In my opinion, kids transferring to smaller schools don't need to transfer to Kentucky to get the big fish in the small pond treatment. There are tons of small schools in Ohio where they could do the same thing. For years, kids were leaving Princeton because they couldn't make the team or get minimal playing time and were transferring to Lockland or Walnut Hills and getting scholarships. If a kid were to transfer for basketball purposes, it usually is for more exposure. With Cincinnati being bigger and having more division 1 and 2 kids playing, IMO it would make more sense to transfer to a school in Cincinnati where you get to play against schools that have kids that scouts are watching.
  5. Avery from Holy Cross? Wow that would be a good addition. What grade is he?
  6. Just talked to the coach. Apparantly he did really well. Two of the three losses they had at nationals were to teams that finished in the top five. They were beating the nationals runner up at the half by 5 before their best player (and probably the best junior in Cincinnati) who had been averaging close to 30 a game got hurt for the rest of the game. Then Connor helped carry the team the rest of the way but they did not pull it out. Connor had a great summer and was one of the main reasons for their success. There aren't any other Ky kids on the team. I recall early in the year that Beetle Bolden was flirting with the possibility of playing on that team before the Travelers came calling.
  7. Who played well? It looks like they played some pretty good teams/programs down there. Congrats on a good season!
  8. Isn't 14th the highest anyone gets placed?
  9. Correct. They lost to All Ohio Red's 15u in the round of 8. Elite Youth Invitational
  10. Yeah I know. Thats why I was confused about his comment.
  11. I am pretty sure there is only one uncommitted kid from Ohio with a Michigan basketball offer in all age groups. Vince Edwards. He goes to Middletown 2014 Recruits ? UM Hoops.com 2015 Recruits ? UM Hoops.com
  12. AAU sanctioned events aren't very big like that state tourneys, but AAU Nationals is still very big for 16U and especially 17U. 15U nationals isn't big because of the location (Arkansas).
  13. The Karolina Diamonds team is based out of Greensboro, North Carolina. They are not a program as this is their only team. They do wear Nike but they are not a Nike sponsored team. The coach is Kevin, father of Ty Graves who is on the team. They finished second at AAU nationals last year. They have lost their two best players from last year to shoe company programs, but they are still loaded. Their website is Karolina Diamonds and it is put together pretty nicely.
  14. Sort of repeating from another thread. He has a good body and above average feet for a kid of his size. Rebounds and defends very well and has a soft touch. All of the big guns are after him. (Duke, UNC, UK). His low post offensive game isn't all the way there yet, but once he gets to college he will be ok. Plays AAU with the Karolina Diamonds, one of the top 15u teams in the country. I wouldn't call him a star, but he should have a good high school career wherever he ends up.
  15. I'll take your word from it. I have been wrong before I was just going off of what I had heard. But I had heard a few weeks ago so you probably have a more recent update on Raekwon.
  16. Another kid from the Karolina Diamonds team. He has a ton of upside. Duke, UK, UNC etc are all looking at him. Heading to Trinity. I'd be suprised if the Diamonds team was together next year. Most of their big guns are going to Shoe company programs.
