He is far too valuable on d, plenty of good options at RB including Stokes, who carried it some last year. If Im coaching that team i limit his carries, get it to him in space.

PBR is holding tbeir futures games there this year, which pits the top uncommitted 16s and a couple 17s from all the states it covers. As for the AC games, I believe last year Kentucky only had one kid survive cuts, Micah Minnard. I would think riley Thompson would be a safe bet this year, if he desires to do it.

Combs and Stringer just participated in the area code tryouts. Thats a big deal, as this region is hosted by white sox, and is invite only, and that invite has to come from a pro scout. Only a handful of 16 kids invited, and all 30 mlb teams as well as countless college scouts attend. If they make it, they will travel to long beach for the actual games. Very rare for a non rising senior to make it, save the elite pitcher or perhaps catcher, so I dont look for the invite, but just to attend sets them in elite company. This event is free, that sets it apart from others as a true scouting event as opposed to a money grab. Congrats boys, way to represent.

Entire team in Nashville for a tourney. Play DH @ Vandy Friday. Bennett will choose his scholl, rather rhan vice versa. IMO will be either North or South Carolina. Another riser is Jay Wilson, 16 kid from Loveland who has touched89. Long and projecible at 6'5. Bennett is the ace, but a couple close behind.

You are kidding yourself if you think his facial apperance is causing him to be overlooked. For whatever reason he isnt projecting. If he is already 310, and not mature, my guess is that weight is a deterrant. What will he be when he does? What will that do to that shuttle? In this age of spread offenses, 310 lb linemen exist, but on fully mature grown men who carry that weight. I agree with your assessment about physique. Gotta get him down about 30lbs. Elite schools want the 6'5 250/275 lb kid whose body can hold the weight when in a rigid S&C program. Recruiting is a tough game. I am playing it right now, just in baseball. I see kids getting offers and committing who in my eyes are no better than my kid, yet we have only a few inquiries. Ask the coaches directly, dont take a service or newspaper . Best all around player on that team, had the best year hands down, and there was no question who the leader of that team was. Didn't hit between himself and Combs, or between Stringer and Slusher. Mason Forbes? Hunter Dunn? How are they not on there somewhere? I know, it's very easy to tear down lists and I am sure all those kids on there had great years, and we could discuss omissions forever.

As long as the region tourney team shows up, they are in my mind the clear favorite. If the regular season team shows up, they are just among the rest.

Bottom line is Kyle pitched all the big games that Suchanek didn't, was the #2 all year, and will be the #1 next year, and rightfully so. Brayden is a great player and a great kid, but so is Kyle and he has earned his right this year to get his shot at the #1. As for the closer, don't sleep on Brett Slusher. He is being converted to a submarine style thrower by the boys at Midland, and is doing very well by all accounts. Could be his role to lose.

The have their ace in Kyle Fieger, a solid 2 in Combs, but need to solidify that 3. My guess it will be Stringer, but who knows, perhaps they instead choose to continue the up and down closer experiment. IMO Highlands is a clear favorite, as long as they build on the end of year run. I saw them couple times mid year, and they were not good. End of year, very. Which team is the real team? Did they just have a great run end of year, or are they really good?

Agree. And from this for the underclassmen comes the opportunity to earn an invite to the Midwest Future Games, if I am not mistaken. The attendance at that one is crazy, nearly every ACC and SEC school will have a rep there. Lots of bang for the buck.

PBR is doing a great job getting kids looks. There will be a plethora of colleges at this event. If your kid plays baseball and has an interest in the next level, get him in their database. Not a better opportunity for uncommitted kids.

You are right. It has everything to do with Beechwood, and nothing to do with the facts. Nothing to do with the fact they went-per MaxPreps- 1-6 in the regular season vs Dixie, Highlands, Ryle, CovCath, Cooper, and Conner. They didn't play Beechwood or Boone, or they most likely would have been 1-8. It has nothing to do with the fact they were a .500 team for much of the season. Any one of the teams listed could have easily made the run SK made, because they were the best teams in Northern KY, which is what this thread was based on. If you want to start a thread about best teams in the 8th region, wherever that is, go for it. There is a reason Major League Baseball and college baseball play series at the end of the season, to determine the best team, not just the team that had the best matchup or best draw. SK needs to petition the state to get back into the 9th region, trade spots with Bellvue or St. Henry and let them go play that type of competition.

Lol. Good for SK, but lets not get crazy. Theyve pkayed a very good tourney vs mediocre comp. Hazard couldnt even make it out of first round of all a finals. I hope they bring it home.

Good game today, Bluegrass Chiefs vs Midland Tomahawks, who house the BW trio of Combs, Stringer, Slusher. THawks still gathering, couple kids out hurt (Combs), four playing for state championships at Moe, one each in Cali and Michigan, but still stacked up. I have also visited several D1 schools, and at 38 am still waiting on my first D1 offer. Doors are always open, self paid visits are a dime a dozen. Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if no D1 offers right now as a rising senior, the pickins are gonna be slim. The big boys have started to offer 2017 kids a;ready, no way a 2015 is coming. D1 is not the end all, plenty of good NAIA and D3 schools out there. Kids must not have what the big boys are looking for, and yes, measurables are just about everything. I realize that's tough message, but the truth hurts sometime. Same as baseball. You could have a kid throwing 90 that hits the mascot every other pitch, and the next kid throws strikes, gets kids out, and is just a great HS pitcher but can't break a pane of glass. Guess which one is getting the offer? Coaches are cocky, they feel they can coach em up and turn out a big diamond in the rough.

Mason Forbes hit well above .425, as did the other two OF on the first team. To OBs point, I guess you could have only named Cam Ross as either a P or OF, and given the other slot to another kid. King is a good player, but so are the kids on first team list.

Who would have thought Tates Creek would lose Rd1? Sumon Kenton not only win district, but win a game in state with a great chance to win another? Its baseball. It happens, and in a one game setting anything can go.
