Scott is a very good player and athlete for Scott County. Wide receiver, saftey, kickoff returns and punt returns. Should be a candidate for Mr. Football next year, problem is not widely known as you can see. Would put him up against anyone yes even Mr Quick. Not saying he is better he just has the heart to compete and does not shy away.

Blue Grass Preps is a great site to talk about foootball, but when people post or reply to threads just to get someone going its not realy talking football are Friday Nights game. I do think it should be about the teams and what they need to do to win. You do this by talking about offence, defence and special teams and their ability to overcome the weakness to win the game. I pay no attention to anyone who does not dicuss the game in this manner. UK # 1 happens to be this type of person and its ashame he drags SK team into the type of adversity they now read. Its a game played by kids and what makes it fun is on Friday night anything can happen in the kids mind when the score is 0 to 0. I am a Scott County Fan and I hope we see a good game to night, and who ever wins I wont them to walk out on the field next Friday thiniking they can win.

Size of a high school does not matter. What percentage of kids start a sport as a Freshman or Sophmore? Not many. What matters is the feeder programs and a coaches ability to manage or influence those programs. Scott County has about 700 kids in its feeder program at any one time and it has been this way for a few years. This is the reason you have seen an improvement in SC play. Its not how big SC is at the Highschool level, we have always been big but not consistant.

No and SK may drop, because according to you SC is over rated and all will believe.

Thanks, I think that we will meet again in the next two years, what has always been understated is SC played a lot of Soph. and Jr. we had only 18 Seniors on the team. The last touchdown SC scored the pass by #7 (freshman) to # 12 (sophmore) was a peek of things to come. Congrates to the Trinity players and fans and good luck on the Big # 1

Maxpreps has BG national ranking 36 & Highlands national ranking 86. The only common opponent is Lex Cath which both won BG by 18 and Highlands by 21. On paper I say would be a good game to watch and either team could win if playing on neutral site and would give the edge for which ever team was home team playing at the schools field.

I would like to see 4 classes of football with Class 1 thru 3 based on enrollment and classes 1 & 2 schools may elect to play up. Class 4 would be based on the programs success and you have to earn your way into this class. In the same right when a class 3 team reaches the top by deminstating its ablilty it can move up and replace a team that has not been successful in class 4. This type of play should insure some good play off games and make it fun to watch and play.

I do not believe there has been any smack talk from coaches or players from SC. They will come in to this game knowing full well what T is capable of and will do there best to stop T on the offence side. We have not played this quality all year with this much amo for scoring. No one from Scott County believes the task ahead is going to be easey we just have to try to make the kid's believe its not impossible. For SC to do this it will take a perfect game and a lot of hart.

I agree you dont make them angry, you use the material and the truth, you tell them we dont really know how good you are till you play the best, go out and play your game and give it 100% for 48 minutes and prove to yourself and everyone else how good you are.

If I am not mistaken all suspensions are 2 games, the game you are ejected from and the following game.

Except for Ballard SC has only given up 2 TDs in any game, and in the Ballard game they were with out there 2 best defencive players the entire game and lost 2 more to penalties. If SC is healthy on defence SC wins 40 to 14.

I think SC offence will put up 40 or more, the defence side will be the telling story. SC must recover on defence or they will be in trouble down the road. That is T beats them by how ever much they want. T's defence will stop the 40 points and we want be close to stoping the T machine.

In the first game Trinity had 41 points and I dont see this changing any, X had 7 points and this could change to 14 or even 21, it want be enough to win.

What people dont realize was SC was without 5 starters on defence in the second half. They started out without 2 starters in the first half. The half time score was 28 to 7. Now the reason we were with out starters was SC's fault, as they had 3 players thrown out. In the condition they were in at the end of the game they would not be able to beat X or possibly Eastern. SC has not talked smack all year and fell apart the second half as far as discipline. The real deal here is to be a good team you must have the discipline that was not shown last Friday Night. Unless SC players get back to business they want make the finals. This is from a big SC fan and supporter.

I know Scott County has improved there program. The coaching staff reaches out to the Football League's by running clinics & takes active parts in the feeder school programes. In all, the Leagues and feeder programs include about 700 kids a year. We have expanded the varsity this year to 72 kids and only 18 are seniors, and the freshmen have 60 players. Coach McKee is starting to utilize a offence team and defence team and using the younger kids on specialty teams. We are continueing to improve but we are not there yet.

Lafayette 21 to 14

It is very hard to develope a consistant winning program in football no matter where you are if you are a public school. Football is the most expensive sport and it takes continues dedication of the school adminastration, and school board. Have you ever seen anyone run for the school board promising a better football program. Lexington will be up against it till they have defined feeder programs, commited school adminastration and school board that supports football. I dont know if the Lexington schools are down as much as other counties are running of and leaving them.

It looks like we are talking about two different things here the quality of football that we see every Friday night and the number of quality players we see getting scholorships. One is not necessarly related to the other. To compete with out of state teams in Ohio, Indiana or Tenn. you must have a well rounded program with sufficient players (70 or more) and play few players both ways and have plenty of back-up. Teams with this formula stand out in the state and compete every year with out of state compitionn not necessarly win every year but compete. I think somewhere between 7% to 10% of KY teams that could do this year in and year out although not that many play out of state teams. I don't think this number has increased any for sometime. I do think most of these programs have a contiuos improvement. As far as winning precentages I think they can easly move up and down any given year. The more a coach devotes himself to a program and taking intrest in the feeder schools, freshman and JV football the more successful thsy will be over time. As far as talent in Ky, I do think we are producing more D1 and D1aa talent than we have in the past.

JC averages 378 yard on the ground and only 30 in the air per game which means ball control. Dont think this will work on Highlands. Highlands 42-21

You know the same thing happened in basket ball where you have 2 to 3 districts that are always loaded and every one else is in the also ran normally. Every once and a while you get the also ran wins a state championship. It looks like it would be simple schools close together get in the same district and when it comes to the playoffs you draw for what district you play against. To easy it makes it fair and every once and a while you have a good championship game.
