Wow, very nice win for the Camels. Congrats. McGovney (18) and Holbrook (23) are both special players and when they are on the Camels will be very hard to beat for anyone. They also have a great supporting cast to go with them. Good luck to both teams as they move on towards the district tournament.

Very sad representation of the 9th region as members of KSCA. Every school should be a member. That is a great way to promote your kids and program and the kids deserve to be recognized. Even if only two coaches voted for this preseason poll there is no good reason why Smith and Moran were left off this list. IMO they are easily the best two players in this region. Not to take anything away from the others on this list because I am sure they are deserving as well. How many 9th region coaches were members last year? Anyone know? What's the cost?

I moved on as well until you made this comment in the Conner Cooper thread: "See...I told you the All A screws up everything!!" remember that. Couldn't resist. I have moved on now though.

Haylee Smith missing. She should definitely be on this list for 9th region.

I heard your meeting with the coaches was to convince them to play in the All A next year. IMO Notre Dame should win this game by double digits even if Holmes is healthy. Good luck to both teams and I hope both teams stay injury free.

Additionally Butts is one of the best pitchers in NKY. St. Henry graduated quite a few last year so it will be interesting to see how they will do this year and what they have returning. Butts, Kramer and Dietz are there core returners from last year and are all three solid players to build the team around. While Dixie is young they should be very good. They have a very nice sophomore class and freshman pitcher Spencer returning. They are young but they should be solid. I agree with your top four. All four teams should be pretty solid. When was the last time a team other than a Boone County team won the region? I would include St. Henry in the best of the rest just because of Butts and Kramer. Both very good athletes and both can pitch. However, it will depend on what else they have to go with them, but that is a good start.

Wow very impressive win for Holy Cross. Congratulations. That's two big wins in a row. They seem to be peeking at the right time. NewCath has a very tough schedule the last two weeks of the season. They just lost to SK and HC and will now face St. Henry, Walton, ND, Ryle and Conner to round out the season before playing Highlands in the first round of district play. Good luck to both teams.

I understand what you are saying, but I think the next tier of teams in the 9th region, IMO 4 thru 8 are very good teams. Those being Cooper, Dixie, Holy Cross, Newport, and Boone County, and they can not be over looked. The top three would be the favorites but anyone can win this region. I would agree the 6th and 11th are the strongest, and I would even throw the 7th in there. The 9th is definitely close behind.

Three teams from the 9th and two teams from the 10th. Four out of the 8 from NKY and five from two regions. I think that is a good thing.

I believe it happens more with baseball and softball with all the rain outs. If a game is cancelled and they play later in a tournament they could agree to it counting as a conference or district game. Also, I noticed that NCCs boys team was over the limit of games on their schedule by one game, due to their tournament runs in the All A regional and state. I also noticed that NCC was dropped off of St. Henry's schedule and this was a conference game. Since they already played in the All A regional I assumed they agreed to count that as their conference game. Again I am not 100% sure but I believe this is correct.

I believe only regular season games count toward the district record unless previously agreed on by both coaches prior to any tournament games. I would think the Christmas Tourney game does not count in the district standings for seeding purposes.

What happens if Boone wins tonight?

I'm not sure about this but I thought Oliverio would be looking to play softball in college. Anyone?
