International tiebreaker: When a regulation game ends in a tie, and the International Tie Breaker rule is used, at the beginning of each team's extra inning at-bat the last batter from the previous inning is placed on 2nd base. If the runner scores that is given second base at the beginning of the extra inning, does it count as an earned run against the pitcher? If so why, and if not why not? I do not know the answer, just asking the question as it has come up in conversations before.

Understood. I was just surprised that there were two girls from so many other teams on the first or second team but only one from ND, the state runner up. Unfortunately it happens. Exactly, Ogle and Smith were the two that came to mind for me too. And Smith really dominated on the boards the entire year. I would be interested in knowing how many rebounds she averaged per game. Had to be in double figures.

Good stuff, thanks. You always seem to be full of information. Question for you or anyone else regarding catchers interference: What is the batter credited with? Doesn't seem it would be fair to give him a "reach base on error" in this case. I was told once that the batter is given a hit in the book and the catcher gets an error. Is that correct? So if the batter is given a hit and the catcher an error, is it an earned run if the batter later scores without any further errors in the inning?

Yes congrats to Boone on the victory. Very nice win, however they did beat Conner the last two years also, once last year and twice in 2011, only to lose to them in the district tournament. Now they need to put it together in the district tournament and win a game to make it to the regional. I would assume it will be Boone and Conner playing again in the first round of the district tournament unless someone can knock Ryle off a couple times.

I agree with your poll. I think the teams you have at 1-4 are solid and can change positions within the top 4 during any week. Same goes for teams 5-9. And until any of those teams 5-9 beat Ryle, ND, Boone or Conner they will stay somewhere 5-9.
