I'm sorry it's not the usual report, been a long week. The Enquirer (NKY.com) and Ky Post both covered the game. Very entertaining game.

The Breds will face either Newport or St. Henry, that game was stopped after 5 full with St. Henry winning 7-2 and will resume at 4:30. Championship game at 5:30. We put the tarp on the field after the game tonight so we should be good to go tomorrow.

Congrats to NCC and no I didn't egg Lawnboy.

 

Both teams played hard. I think NCC scored in almost every possible way, by hitting the ball, scoring on a wild pitch on a 3rd strike, on an obstruction play on a run between 3rd and home, on squeeze plays, on a base loaded walk and of course on errors. And those are just the ones I can remember. Both teams had chances to make some plays in the outfield that could have really helped their teams, they made a couple but not enough.

 

I know HC was pretty down after the game, it was the first meanful game they have really played in almost 3 years. It happens and like I told most the girls we didn't lose bc of lack of effort. We had a couple errors that we normaly don't ever have but that is the game of softball.

 

Assuming St Henry holds on against Newport the NCC/St Henry game should be a good one. I think NCC has overall the better team but if Butts is healthy and pitches well St Henry has a big advantage in the circle.

Moran was very fortunate to have 4 hits..NCC was playing very deep and couldn't get to two balls....she fields her position a little better and HC may have been playing tonight...it happens

I guess Maddie didn't read the scouting report......"Taylor Burkart, not the most fleet of foot". She had all day to throw her out. Taylor said to me when I got home, "dad she had all day to get me". :lol2:

 

Just remind her, even the BEST have a bad game every now and then. However, she did put a hurtin' on the ball. :thumb:
