  1. I predict McDonald scores for the Breds. He was on a nice little run for the prior 3 games (before Lloyd) averaging about 20 a game.
  2. I agree that you should get a personal trainer as well. You got to be strong if you are going to successful, especially down low. It's a physical game. Just my opinion from when I used to be a big strong player in the paint. :jump: I was at the UK game this weekend and it was a wrestling match every trip down the court for position.
  3. That is the impression I am under. Correct, more than a few stories.....
  4. What I have gathered is this was the head coaches decision solely. As with any coaching staff, throughout the season, opinions on how things should be set up, offenses should be run, positions, etc. differed between the head coach and the assistant coach(es). I am under the impression, the team felt as though they could approach Matt with questions, concerns, advice, etc. (aka - coaching) whereas they did not feel comfortable (or didn't feel as though they could) approaching the head coach with the same. I believe the girls trusted Matt. Again, just the impression I got about the program, just my opinion. I don't believe this went over well with the head coach. I don't know if the head coach felt threatened by the relationship the players had with Matt or not, I cannot speak to that, however, that's the vibe that this change in the coaching staff seems to be giving.
  5. Cov Cath looked very very impressive last night. I don't know what they shot from the field, however, I only recall one missed shot in the first quarter on their way to putting up 32 points on the board. Perhaps TOG has some stats he can share with regard to the game last night.
  6. Correct. College recruiting, I guess I should have been more clear with regard to that part of my post. Over the past couple years, NDA has had a TREMENDOUS amount of girls receive college scholarships for volleyball. I believe 10 girls have or will be continuing their volleyball careers at the next level (Class of 2012 - 6 girls are currently playing in college, 2013 - 2 girls, 2014 -2 girls currently committed) with many of them playing at the Division I level (8 girls). Matt has done a great deal of work in assisting these girls in contacting the college coaches and/or acting as a conduit during the recruiting process. I know he's not the only one that worked with these girls during this time, club coaches and parents assisted as well. I am speaking strictly from Notre Dame. Matt has been the one that provides the information to prepvolleyball.com about NDA volleyball, getting them Nationally ranked, getting them invited to Las Vegas, Chicago and was working to get the girls invited to Hawaii for a tournament on the islands for next season. I did get some additional information with regard to him being dismissed by NDA. I was told he was totally blindsided by the news and that the girls were informed of the change yesterday at school and they are are not taking the news well at all. In many cases, the girls said that Matt held the team together during some difficult times over the past few years. As you can tell, I am a fan of Matt's and think he has done a great job in working with the volleyball team at NDA, spearheading the charge to get NDA volleyball on the National stage, building relationships with the families and competing for State Championships year in and year out.
  7. Agreed. From everything I have heard about Coach Ruthsatz, I don't envision this happening. Even with a slight let down, they should have enough to get by the Cougars.
  8. Any truth to the rumor? I am digging around to see what I can find. I hope this story is not true!!! In my opinion, Matt is one of the best volleyball coaches in Northern Kentucky (if not the state) and has done a tremendous job at NDA since his arrival 5 or 6 years ago in developing the girls, assisting with recruiting, getting NDA volleyball national exposure by getting them invited to the top two tournaments in the country (Las Vegas and Chicago). This would be a major blow to the volleyball program. Anyone else hearing anything with regard to this news?
  9. And that may have been the case for this game as well. I don't really recall when it became a running clock. It may have been in the 3rd quarter.
  10. I believe it had more to do with issues that have happened at Sharp Middle in the past towards the Gray players. I would think that this Gray team was providing the 'karma' for past games at Sharp. Just my opinion.
  11. 12/5 Scores: Gray 7th Grade lost to Woodland Gray 8th Grade won 69 - 32
  12. Since it wasn't a 'district' game they didn't have to keep the clock running (does that make sense? Perhaps they said 'league' game)........ That is what I was told when I questioned why the clock wasn't running. The entire 4th quarter the clock did run. I can't really recall the 3rd quarter. Perhaps midway through the 3rd quarter they kept it running. The first half it stopped every whistle.
  13. Blue Lightning eighth-grade guard Cole VonHandorf added 13 points
  14. Gray 7th grade boys beat Sharp last night at Sharp in OT. Gray 8th grade boys beat Sharp by 60+ points last night, it was UGLY as you can imagine...
  15. I agree if the conversation has been had and it is understood that BH does not have ANY interest in NKU. However, I would think that the athlete should keep all doors open until they make their commitment. I find it hard to believe that he would shut this door already if he didn't already know he had one of his higher ranked schools in the bag. Just like colleges string athletes along during the recruiting trail, it is only fair and would make sense that the athlete do the same. Perhaps the phrase 'string them along' isn't the correct wording, however, that is what comes to mind. If, for example, the athelete has NKU listed as #5 on their list, then before shutting that door, they better have #1 - #4 ready to make them an offer. If I am Bezold and he fits into what I am trying to accomplish at NKU and he would be a fit, what does it hurt to offer him and put a timetable on it. I don't think that is wasting resources, etc.. Just my thought.
  16. Gray 7th grade took one on the chin last night by Campbell Co. by 10. Gray 8th grade continues to roll, another 25+ point victory over Campbell Co. I think the 8th grade is 7 - 0 and all games have had a margin of victory of 25 or more.
  17. I believe, it is in the best interest of any and all students and/or athletes to explore all their options when it comes to attending high school. Cam and his family did nothing wrong. This is all on SK. In my opinion, SK had to options: 1) allow Cam to play up, build relationships with the coaches, players, students, etc., at SK and hope that he wants to stay in the program and attend SK (similiar to what VOR stated). 2) throw a fit about an 8th grader about attending an open house with his friends and back the family into a corner to force them to choose. SK chose the second option, which was the wrong decision in my opinion. Cam went to the CCH open house with a couple buddies from his AAU basketball team and their families becasue they were going to the open house. What's the big deal with that? Way to go SK, when you try to bully kids and their families, you lose!!!! Good Luck Cam and Go Colonels!!!
  18. Not a chance..... You can, however, watch the NDA v. Mercy 2nd round game on iHigh along with all the other quarter finals, semi finals and finals. 2012 KHSAA Volleyball Tournament - Quarterfinal #4 | KHSAA Videos | iHigh.com Go Pandas!!!
  19. Isn't that what you predicted BK?
  20. I thought BK was all knowing when it came to High School volleyball in the state of Kentucky?
  21. Has it been confirmed that the State Tournament is going to be 3 out of 5? I am hearing because of time constraints that only the finals will be 3 out of 5. I'm hoping that is incorrect. Does anyone know for sure how the State Tournament is going to be run?
  22. I was under the impression that a picture of the guy was taken by a parent at the game..... Perhaps I am incorrect, however, I thought the coach notified the 'team photograhper' about the situation and they did get a picture of the guy before the coach confronted him in the stands about what was going on. Either way, good job by the coach of noticing this idiot. I wish the coach would have told me before confronting the guy. I'm sure I could have talked, err, beat some sense into this guy and not allow him to leave with the camera.
