  1. A lot of girls from Conner stepped up in this game. Congrats to coach Stamm and the team. Very well deserved.
  2. I sincerely apologize for hijacking this thread. ND showed a ton of resilience and toughness. Congrats on the win!
  3. Thanks for the apology to BigZig. I just felt like you were criticizing the coaching staff and the players and thought that was wrong without being constructive. To answer your assumption, I am a parent but thought my "kid" played one of the best games she's ever had while putting up 28 points and battling underneath. But I am glad you didn't question her abilities or I certainly would have had a stronger tone. You know who I am now so feel free to come up and introduce yourself at the next game.

  5. Final per scoreboard. Tough, gritty game but the Cougars leave with the win.

  7. It's going to be very difficult to beat NCC when they hit 10 3's in a game no matter what defense you are in. Tough to guard the perimeter and Kiernan. Owings has a huge heart and I felt like she tried to put her team on her back last night. I was surprised that SK's offense didn't involve their big girls at all. Obviously Kiernan had an unbelievable performance, but Ware also had a great game. Offenses better be alert of where's she's at all the time or she's going to steal the ball from you.
  8. Final per scoreboard. Hunter Hendricks from Conner had a great game. I'm not sure how many total points she had but she hit five 3's in the first half.
  9. Nice game by Brossart. I don't know all of her stats, but Sarah Futscher won the Player of the Game award.
  10. The Conner Lady Cougars are hosting the 3rd Annual LaRosa's Hebron Holiday Classic on Dec 26th - 28th. Coach Stamm and his staff has invited some great teams again this year. 11. Congrats to Abby!! Great player and even better person. I absolutely love to watch her play. Lots of energy! Isn't she planning on playing at Thomas More next year?
  12. Game was tied at 41 at the half. I thought coach Stamm made some nice adjustments at halftime. Conner's bench really stepped up and maintained the lead after some of the starters got into foul trouble. Kramer from CC had a nice game as well with 20 points. After watching a few games already this year, I've learned that if you are a guard and you can keep from fouling, you can certainly use the new rules to your advantage on offense. All you have to do is drive to the basket. You're either going to have an uncontested layup, or you're going to get fouled 80% of the time.
  13. Fun fact for this game.... There were 84 free throws shot. Gambrell shot 28 of them.
  14. I counted 30 fouls in the first half. Several were called in the post while trying to get defensive position. So much for the "baseline to foul line" rule. Very difficult to watch. Fans were giving the refs their two cents all night too.
  15. I also watched some of the Highlands scrimmage and agree with what has already been said. There are some new faces, but one in particular that impressed me, especially knowing how young she is - Z. Barth. She will be special to watch in the coming years. They also have some other nice shooters. I also saw some good things from Conner. Gambrell and Hendricks have certainly put in some work over the summer. Maines picked up right where she left off and was hustling all over the place making plays. Dages also showed a lot of athleticism. I was also surprised with some of the younger players like Boelter, Vest, Frye and Hicks. These girls will have some quality minutes. It was also nice to see senior Sydney Himes return after taking a year off. She goes 110% all of the time and will be fun to watch. Conner has some things to work on of course but they showed a lot of potential yesterday. It should be mentioned that North Oldham only had 7 players and I'm not familiar with any of them. But they had a couple nice players that kept grinding even when it seemed they were out of gas.
