Anyone know what teams will be participating and the schedule for the days games on saturday 11/23..I know that Conner plays North Oldham at 6pm. Would appreciate it if anyone has any additional info. I will definitely be there for the Conner game and probably the game prior to when they are playing. If you are there stop by and say hello. I'll either have on a blue Conner hoodie or a BGPs hoodie.

Any information on these or other scrimmages this weekend?

Give ya what I got. Watched HHS play Nelson Co. Hard to tell what the result was because they started at zero each qtr. But adding all the qtrs up, the game came out pretty even.

 

But I will say if there wasn't a scoreboard and I was just watching the game, I would have thought Nelson was winning. They seamed to be playing faster and stronger than the birds this afternoon. It felt like they got way more rebounds. Seemed like they got the tough rebounds the majority of the time as well. They have a nice team with some really nice young players.

 

As for Highlands, they looked soft to me. They MUST find a way to play with a lil more toughness and attitude. They are all very skilled, can pass and shoot, but they must become tougher. They must rebound better and the must rotate better on defense. It's early and they are young, so I still have high hopes for them. Too much talent not to figure it out.

 

Got to watch one qtr of the Conner/North Oldham game. Two words...Mady Meyer. She is back and looked big and strong! Much more polished than a year ago. Definitely will be one of the top players in the 9th and will have the ability to carry them at times. The rest of the starters are very athletic. They looked good against their opponent tonight. The one thing I would question is their depth. But for the qtr I saw, the starters looked pretty good.

I got to watch pretty much of the Highlands and Nelson scrimmage and it did seem to be pretty even. Lots of new young faces on the Bluebird team that I think will improve as the year goes on..

 

As for Conner they looked very impressive and you are right about Madi Myers. She stays out of foul trouble and she is capable of putting up a double/double every night. Should be a big year for her. Also thought the 2 10th grade guards (Hendricks and Gambrell) looked physically stronger than a year ago and should have good years for the Cougars this season. Brook Maines also had a typical night for her scoring about 12 points. Coach Stamm was rotating girls in and out of the lineup throughout the evening and appears to have numerous girls who will contribute this season. I thought Conner was very impressive for a 1st scrimmage.

I also watched some of the Highlands scrimmage and agree with what has already been said. There are some new faces, but one in particular that impressed me, especially knowing how young she is - Z. Barth. She will be special to watch in the coming years. They also have some other nice shooters.

 

I also saw some good things from Conner. Gambrell and Hendricks have certainly put in some work over the summer. Maines picked up right where she left off and was hustling all over the place making plays. Dages also showed a lot of athleticism. I was also surprised with some of the younger players like Boelter, Vest, Frye and Hicks. These girls will have some quality minutes. It was also nice to see senior Sydney Himes return after taking a year off. She goes 110% all of the time and will be fun to watch. Conner has some things to work on of course but they showed a lot of potential yesterday.

 

It should be mentioned that North Oldham only had 7 players and I'm not familiar with any of them. But they had a couple nice players that kept grinding even when it seemed they were out of gas.

You're right. Barth played well yesterday. She is a great player from a VERY strong 7th grade class for HHS.

 

I also agree that Gambrel and Hendricks did look physically stronger.
