  1. Hey, let's don't forget that these young ladies left it all on the floor tonight. Great game and great coaching by both teams. Regardless of all the stats, Conner let this one get away and Highlands got the win. Congrats. I saw girls from both teams play their hearts out. Very good game to watch.
  2. Congrats to Highlands. Great game!
  3. Impressive win for SK! Very happy for them!
  4. Meyers is just coming off of an injury and hasn't been starting since her return about a week ago. Regardless, I think Schafer will see several of the Cougars rotating and guarding her.
  5. Who has the popcorn? Ha! I think Conner can pull this off IF they stay out of foul trouble. I know you can say that about Highlands too (or any other team for that matter), but it will certainly be important Saturday night. I'm really looking forward to this game. I expect it to be a physical matchup and hope all the girls come out un-injured. Oh, and lets hope that we're not going to be talking about the officiating after the game!! Good luck to both teams (but more so to the Cougars!)
  6. I was kidding about switching to a Highlands thread. I just thought it would give a few of you a laugh! Honestly, as a parent, I don't like to see "barber-shop talk" like this because it puts a lot of un-needed pressure on these young ladies (including my daughter). Although coaches ban the girls from reading sites like BGP, I know they hear what's being posted. I do enjoy reading the game summaries and respect the opinions of most of you on here.
  7. Sorry, but I'm still confused about the purpose of this thread. Was is started because Conner is getting too much respect, or not enough? And from who? Seems like everyone on here respects these young ladies and the local media is giving them a fair amount of recognition/respect. Look, I'm from Hebron and I don't feel there is any disrespect from anyone. There's always going to be parents from other teams that think their daughter's team is better than the school that's ranked higher; it's just the nature of the sport, especially girls basketball. Any of the top 5 teams could beat each other on any given night depending on injuries and matchups. We're getting into the meat of the season and I'm looking forward to some quality basketball! I'm sure the debate will continue, but it will all be resolved soon. In the meantime, let's start a thread on another school. How about Highlands?! :thumb:
  8. I'm still trying to figure out why his thread was started. Conner is getting plenty of recognition after playing 19 games already. I've yet to see where anyone claims that they aren't... Am I missing it somewhere?
  9. I thought it was a great tournament with good teams. Conner and/or Stamm had nothing to do with the officiating. It was out I their control. Of course, no one on this thread is blaming either one, but what can you do about it other than complain? Some were good, some were bad. There were 16 games! Oh, and congrats to Highlands for a great tourney! Well done.
  10. There have already been some incredible games and I'm sure tomorrow will provide the same. The Highlands PRP game should be interesting. PRP is a pretty solid team, but Highlands should matchup well. Of course the Conner Boone game shouldn't disappoint either. Congrats to coach Stamm on providing another quality tournament.
  11. NKYFan reported that she's out 4 weeks with a high ankle sprain.
  12. Agreed! There's a lot of basketball left in the season!
  13. Very cool for Emily. Congrats!
  14. Sounds like the overall numbers are down, but I thought there were 3 girls from Cooper that were on the AAU National Championship team (Maniacci, Pittman, & Arnett)? Please correct me if I'm wrong, but if so, there's still some talent and they should have good chemistry between them since they've played together all summer.
  15. Congrats to both teams! There is some outstanding talent on these two teams and I am very familiar with these Shining Stars teams. This is truly a well-run orgainization. Mr. Pittman and the rest of the coaching staff obtains the very best from these young ladies on the floor, and maybe most importantly, they communicate their expectations off the floor as well. It is the first AAU coaching staff that I've been involved with that realizes that these girls just want to become better players for their respective schools. It's just a class-act organization that really puts the girls first. Both teams had outstanding perfomances at the AAU Nationals that they should be proud of!
  16. I've had the chance to watch JScott fairly often. She's always in the right position and is a great TEAM player. I wish her the best of luck!
