Per the scoreboard. Any details on this one? Heard it was pretty competitive for most of the game.

Nda had no answer for Meyers most of the game and was in foul trouble. Nda was down 4 late then #20 for Nda took over with clutch shooting and ball handling.

It was a gritty game for both teams but NDA seemed to stay relaxed (even with their foul troubles) drove the lane & took smarter shots than Conner tonight!! Not sure how many Meyers scored but she seemed to be Conner's only points. Nothing long range was going in for Conner & they weren't getting a 2nd shot due to NDA's rebounding. I like Conner as a sleeper team in the 9th region but tonight proved Conner lives & dies by the 3 & if Maines & Hendricks aren't hitting those shots, Conner is hurting!! Nice win for NDA at home on "Grade School" night, too!! NDA is a quality program & I think other schools should think about hosting a grade school night for their future ballers also!!!

Notre Dame 60, Conner 51

Notre Dame (8-6) - Stallman 4 2 12, Ogle 1 0 2, Hellmann 5 3 13, Kellam 8 5 21, Henderson 2 1 5, Clemmons 3 0 7. Totals: 23 11 60.

Conner (11-5) - Maines 3 2 10, Meyers 9 10 28, Himes 0 1 1, Hendricks 1 2 4, Gumbrell 1 4 6, Hicks 1 0 2. Totals: 15 19 51.

Halftime: N 28-27. 3-pointers: N 3 (Stallman 2, Clemmons); C 2 (Maines 2).

No points for Smith, that is rare. ND plays very physical ball.

Ellie Ogle showed some real toughness, She caught massive elbow from Meyers (unintentional). Her eye turned back almost immediately and swelled up. She sat out while the swelling subsided and came back in the fourth and made some huge plays. Meyers is the most physical player in the 9th I have seen. Clemons had 8 assists plus Kellam had 9 or 10 rebounds in the game which helped with Smith in foul trouble. Game was tied at 50 with 3 to go. Conner forced up some bad three's and that was the difference.

Nice win for NDA considering 2 points combined from Ogle and Smith.

Meyers is a beast underneath!! Conner's energy fizzled toward the end & it seemed like Meyers was the only player fighting to win. Conner has the talent to win, but they need to work the lane more & stop throwing up 3's when they aren't dropping!! Conner had NDA down & in foul trouble so they should have been driving the lane to draw a foul or take an easy jump shot. Not sure if Stamm has anyone able or willing to take a jump shot in the lane other than Meyers. Dages has a pretty jump shot but seems uncomfortable pulling up in the lane to take that shot. Teams can't score 15 3s every game, so they need to work on their game in the lane if they expect to go far in the tourney!! Conner will have their hands full with Ryle this week and will require smarter choices for shooting or Ryle's young players will make them pay!! Should be interesting!!

Like in the boys Regional, the girls are gonna have fun sorting out our Regional representative.

Do you think playing the 4th game in 5 days had anything to do with the lack of fizzle? How bout 2 games in under 24 hours? You think that might cause a lack of fizzle?

NDA is a good team. They won. Nobody can control the weather which is why the game got moved to 3:30. Nobody's fault that Conner played a makeup game this past week that was previously cancelled cause of weather.

But IMO Conner was a bit fizzled out before game even started.

Most of these girls play summer ball, multiple games in a week or even in a day should not cause too much of a problem. In fact it is good for the upcoming tourneys where lots of ball is played in a short timeframe. 15-18 year olds should not tire out, if they do they are out of shape.

No idea if Conner was wore out or not, but I do agree with Panda Kids should have no problem playing that many games. They would be practicing every day if the weren't playing. It's not like they would be sitting around resting. And they do normally play multiple games in one day if they play any competitive sport these days So it really shouldn't effect them too much. And they are 15-18, I know I could play everyday as long as you wanted when I was that age. Not now!

Your absolutely right Panda in the summertime they do play this much. But in January they don't and they are at school for most of the day and most public schools in Boone they have to get up at 6:30 AM to get ready for school. So I don't think you can compare the AAU season in the summer when they can sleep and lounge and the high school season.

Tired legs hurt shooters.
