Cooper and Notre Dame have been rescheduled for February 11th.

Didn't seem like Gallatin missed a shot all night! They shot the heck out of the ball. The Dossett sisters are fun to watch. I was very impressed with the decision making of both Dossett girls. Both had a number of assist and shared the ball very well. Very intelligent players. Cooper struggled taking care of the ball in the 3rd quarter and allowed Gallatin County to make a big run that put the game away. Cooper went into half time with a lead but paid for the mistakes with the basketball. If you turn the ball over against Gallitan they are going to get a lot of easy points. Coach Levendusky has the Cooper team playing very well. I think they will only get better as the season rolls along. Very glad that my daughter has the opportunity to spend her senior year under the tutelage of Coach Levendusky and her staff.

She is a fantastic young lady. Congrats Futch!

Cooper has beaten Holmes and Conner but doesn't get any votes?

Grant County took a big hit when Jenna Martin broke her wrist during the Cooper game. Grant County wasn't very deep to begin with and the loss of one of the their top players is really going to hurt them.

I got to watch Holy Cross in their opener against Cooper. I was really impressed with the twins and Holy Cross overall length. I also like the game of McClendon. She is a very nice player. The biggest challenge Holy Cross will have is finding a perimeter scorer. From what I watched they are really going to struggle making perimeter jump shots. No one really to stretch the defense and free up the twins inside.

Should be a very interesting game. Two different types of teams. Holy Cross is a big team that wants to work in the half court. Highlands is an athletic team that wants to get up and down the court. The tempo of the game may decide the winner.

I really like all of the pictures. I love being able to see some of the girls who played for me in the summer in action. Thanks!!

Very proud of the Cooper girls last night. They got down by double digits in the first half and battled back all night. Had the ball a couple of times late in the game with a chance to tie or take a lead but could never get over that final hurdle. Holy Cross has to be one of the bigger teams in this area. The twins inside are a load and very hard to match up with. But as mentioned before the game never had any true flow. The number of fouls called is crazy.

Looks like Tibbs had a big game. Are we looking for a bit of a breakout season for Tibbs?

A lot of very good young talent on the floor in this game. Ryle starts 4 sophomores (Lange, Jones, Schwartz and Jump). Bishop Brossart gets good minutes from three sophomores (Schultz, Shannon and King). But Bishop Brossart has a number of seniors that they can lean on early in the season. Senior Abby Stadtmiller lead Bishop Brossart to the victory tonight.

Simon Kenton will loose some offense with the graduation of Bosse. This will be a very experienced group of girls coming back with Cook, Hester, Tomlin, Owings and Cox. Abby Owings was their leading scorer last year and I would expect the same for this year. I would also expect Rachael Cox to have a big season and improve on her 6pts and 6reb of last season. A very experienced team that should make a deep run this year.

Who will be the top contributors this year at Ryle? I would have to think Senviski will be one of the top offense players returning this year. Is Rachael Storer healthy and able to play? I think the younger players will make a big impact with this team this year. Two of the sophomores that I expect to play a big role would be Mallory Schwartz and Carly Lange. They have a solid group of sophomores that will be pushing for playing time.

Got a chance to watch Cooper scrimmage at Mother of Mercy last night. Pretty solid effort but still a lot of work to do. Mercy really gets after it and makes your work. Very physical game. It looks like Cooper will start 5 seniors this year if everyone is healthy. It got me to thinking, what other teams in Northern Kentucky will start 5 seniors? Simon Kenton? Coach Levendusky is doing a great job with these young ladies. It was great to see her on the bench last night doing her thing! As a parent I am very happy that my daughter will get an opportunity to play for her this year. Should be an interesting and enjoyable season!

I believe that Lexi Held will play a valuable role with Cooper this year. Cooper lacks depth at the point guard position and Lexi should help. I watched Lexi play during the summer with Cooper and she held her own. Congrats to Lexi for making the team and best wishes for the upcoming season!

They do not have to be high school starters. I think that rule is out the window. Conner moved up Gambrell and Hendricks as 8th graders and neither one started varsity.

I think Notre Dame is going to be the team to beat in the 9th again this year. They will be lead by three experienced and tested seniors. Paige Kellam when healthy is one of the top point guards in the region, Carlee Clemons is a versatile wing player that does all the little things that help teams win, and Elly Ogle who I think is the top defensive player in the 9th region and one of the best all around athletes. Add Smith in the post and you have a very strong and experienced lineup.

I do think that it is an honor to be recognized by the coaches and invited to this event. But I would be very disappointed if I paid $150 to attend this weekend and only four colleges have registered for the event.

NKU, Bowling Green State University, Transy, Bluffton. That is the only colleges I saw that were posted. Any others? How many of them will be in attendance? Does the packet come with video or just information on the players that attended?

9th Region my pick would be for Notre Dame to repeat.

The Semi Final game between Shining Star Sports and Louisville Focus was an ugly offensive game for both teams. We really struggled to finish around the basket. The big girl for the Focus played very well. She is a nice player. Anyone know her name and where she plays? I was very proud of our girls for finding a way to win and advance. Questionable call or not I give Sarah Futscher a ton of credit for being able to step to the line and knock down both free throws to give us the victory. Very clutch!
