Holy Cross High School

I'll be there, but may take my radio to listen to you guys like I used to listen to Marty and Joe at the Reds games! I listened Saturday and thought you and your partner did a great job. Sounded like a good game. Take it easy on 15 of the enemy tonight! And if the big girls want to sit this one out, it wouldn't hurt my feelings!

Should be a very interesting game. Two different types of teams. Holy Cross is a big team that wants to work in the half court. Highlands is an athletic team that wants to get up and down the court. The tempo of the game may decide the winner.

I agree! Their bigs against HHS run and gunners! I know they will want to slow it down and pound the HI/LO game and HHS will be out on the break. If their bigs can stay out of foul trouble and run the floor the entire game, it will make it a very interesting match up.

RCC9 - Thanks for listening on Saturday night. I agree with your assessment on tonight. HC will be looking to get the ball low on every possession and work inside/out and it sounds like from what I am hearing that HHS wants to speed up the tempo. I don't want to beat a dead horse here, but I also think the foul situation (as will be the case all year with the boys and girls) could factor in as well. HC's bench is a little thin right now. They have young players who will be good at the varsity level at some point but haven't had much time yet. Our bigs are tough to defend because they do a great job of looking for each other and obviously rebound well.

I have also noticed this year how much harder it is to call a game on the radio now that there is a whistle every 20-30 seconds. I feel like I keep saying the same thing over and over. "Reach in foul on......hand check foul on......". :isurrender:

Take care and stop up to introduce yourself tonight before we go on the air.

I got to watch Holy Cross in their opener against Cooper. I was really impressed with the twins and Holy Cross overall length. I also like the game of McClendon. She is a very nice player.

The biggest challenge Holy Cross will have is finding a perimeter scorer. From what I watched they are really going to struggle making perimeter jump shots. No one really to stretch the defense and free up the twins inside.

This year I agree that perimeter shooting will be a weakness/problem. Next year that will not be the case as Turner will fill that void and then some. They will very difficult to guard next year for sure with all 3 bigs back and PG Dajah McClendon back as well. However that is next year. This year HC will have to ride the play of the 3 bigs and solid PG in McClendon.

Tweet us updates tonight. We're at Dixie/Grant.
