2A #4 Danville at 3A #1 Boyle County
ThinThirty1981 replied to zebraman's topic in KY Football (High School)
I’ve seen Danville play, rivalry will have no effect on this game. If Boyle Co is locked and loaded it will be over early, there is no need to think any different just like PP92 said, just like to see Danville battle and compete, they just don’t have enough fire power on offense, no threat passing and BC loads up on the run, can’t end well for Danville -

Danville hesitating too much on offense, going to have to put a foot in the ground and go -
I watched the first quarter, I saw a lot of undecivenes, hesatation, hopefully they can get that straightened out, I noticed Coach Clevenger was showing a lot of patience on the sideline that he didn’t last year. It wouldn’t surprise me to see them line up in the wish bone some this year like in the playoffs last year

The Ads will be fine, I think BC will be an undefeated State Champion, I think Corbin will be tough because they play at Corbin, and Tate’s Creek at Tate’s Creek. After that I think the other 7 games the Ads will have a better than average chance to win. Danville lost a lot of key performers, but they still have Clay Clevenger, He has transformed the culture back to Championship football at Danville and I think that will carry a lot more weight than people will give credit for.

Wayyyy Too Early Top 5 Class 2A
ThinThirty1981 replied to ATLCat's topic in KY Football (High School)
I saw Danville destroy Glasgow last year, if they are number five then 2A is going to be very weak from number 5 on to the bottom -

I remember French leaving to be Head Coach at BC, now Travis will be an assistant, who is the other Head Coach from LC that became an assistant coach at BC in the last 10 years -
can’t wait!

Wouldn’t you have rather played the State Championship team again, now you want to beat up on a bunch of young guys, that’s really not going to prove much, Oh! And they may be a little better than every one thinks

Still upset?

Danville 35 Mayfield 21 - 2A State Championship
ThinThirty1981 replied to theguru's topic in KY Football (High School)
VanCleave 2A player of the year, most rushng yards in the title game, player of the game and yes He is Fast, REAL fast and proved it today. Clay Clevenger Coach of the year in 2A and staff I think he would tell you. And 2A CHAMPION from the weakly east, think that about sums it up for all the talk during the season and playoffs. Way to go ADS!!!! -

#1 Danville vs. #3 Mayfield (2A State Final)
ThinThirty1981 replied to 16thBBall Fan's topic in KY Football (High School)
Not sure about the last time Danville played Mayfield, but they played Newport Central Catholic in 2006 Championship game and lost. I think last time Danville played Mayfield in the Championship game was 1989 and won, also beat Mayfield in 1987 Championship game with a blocked extra point. I'm pretty sure al the other games between the two were play off games. -

Don't count on it, I'm not sure some Danville fans realize how good the Mayfield program is. I think one plus for Danville will be a 1 hour bus ride compared to Mayfields 4-5 hour trip. -
#1 Danville vs. #6 Somerset (2A Second Round)
ThinThirty1981 replied to DevilMayCare's topic in KY Football (High School)
I may be wrong, but I saw a Danville team last Friday that looked rested and had some pep to their step. Granted East Ridge was way out matched but the ADS seemed to be back to playing with purpose. I felt like the first game with Somerset, Danville looked tired and had 3 or 4 key players banged up and just tried to get through the game. In my opinion I think Danville will come out swinging for the fences and won't look back, Danville 48 Somerset 14. -
Way to go Mayfield, I had no doubts. By the way welcome to 2A Football.

Newport Central Catholic 15 Danville 7
ThinThirty1981 replied to WestDanville's topic in KY Football (High School)
This was a defensive battle, I'm just glad the ADS were able to show some of the Northern Kentucky doubters that the ADS were for real. I think the Ads got tired at the end that's why they didn't get the tackle on the NCC QB when he threw the TD pass to #3, Smith, Who by the way they shut down. And also on the 2 Pt. conversion back to the the QB. Great effort on NCC players part at the end, they made the plays to win. The ADS left it all on the field that is all you can ask for, no regrets, no shame. Clay Clevenger has brought Back Admiral football to where it is being played with heart and passion. Great job Coach. I have no doubt we will see NCC at Admiral Stadium next year. -
article Class 2A Semi-Finals: Tale of the Tape
ThinThirty1981 replied to ATLCat's topic in KY Football (High School)
I was there also, that was a down pour most of the game, I think Danville had the best team on a dry field, I guess Dudley Hilton and Bourbon County really appreciated the rain, was it 1997? -
