Sarge, based on what I saw of Beechwood last year and what I have heard this year unless they have improved alot, my guess is no.

Touch`, Ramfan. But, I have seen lots of Mayfield teams and I know when a team has a legitiment shot and this team does. Playing the Fultons is something we have to do and it makes no difference about our chances. Having never seen Fairview play , the only thing I can do is take an educated guess. Since at this point Fairview or Raceland has never to my knowledge in recent memory done anything in the playoffs to warrent consideration of being a contender my view is they are not. My view is that either Mayfield, LHC, or Hazard will win the title. Like you I am wrong lots of times but I can usually guess with great accuracy within 3 teams.

My guess is no. Raceland as far as I know has never contended and Fairview handly beating them makes no statement to me.

To answer the threads question. Lone Oak is somewhat down. After seeing the ending of the game on ihigh I would say Green County shoplifted a win.

I saw them a little bit on You Tube and they looked well coached. It looks like they have decent size but I can't really tell about their team speed and to me that will be the difference if they are a contender or a pretender.

As an outsider looking in at PT I believe Wyatt is the man for the job. I like that he is a disciplinarian , young men need that. Perry was a good coach also and he could have done the same as Wyatt did last year. I believe Perry was out coached by Smith in 03. PT probably had way more talent than Boyle. Casey was a 1st team USA Today player while Cantwell ended up in the NFL.

Whatabout the 03 squad that Thomas had that featured Cantwell and Casey? I thought that team was loaded and should have won the title but got beat at home by Boyle Co.

Does Beechwood , HC , Hazard ,LCA have a win against a top flight team? The victory against PT, who was bigger and had more team speed than us, showed me this team will be a very very tough out come playoff time. Mayfield also handled a very good Milan TN team in a scrimmage.

I wouldn't discribe the Scribe as a Mayfield fan or even Quickslick. Both are gushing about Mayfield and while I agree that Mayfield may have the best team in 1A , I don't think its necessarily a slam dunk that we will win the 1A title.

I haven't heard anyone from Mayfield say that they think Mayfield could beat Highlands.

I don't know if Mayfield is getting "lauded"? Mayfield didnt run the score up, I just dont think it could be helped. We know it was not a big accomplishment.

Quickslick, I guess you don't know where you are? This is Beechwood country and you have said fightin words to these people ,talkin about how if we had been in 1A , Beechwood wouldn't have won all those titles.

Fulton County was a joke. Dont read too much into that score. I will say this, if Mayfield doesnt win the state title most Mayfield fans will say this team under achieved. Winning 75-6 might get our LIT ratings up. I saw where Beechwood was rated #1 last week in 1A
