If the fly ball was routine and outfielder was deep enough for the runner to score pretty easily, it's still scored as a Sac Fly with an RBI credited to the batter if the fielder drops the ball. (d) Score a sacrifice fly when, before two are out, the batter hits a ball in flight handled by an outfielder or an infielder running in the outfield in fair or foul territory that (1) is caught, and a runner scores after the catch, or (2) is dropped, and a runner scores, if in the scorer's judgment the runner could have scored after the catch had the fly been caught.

Forbes, Baumann, Mason is the best 3-4-5 in the 9th region.

There was no malicious contact. Very little contact at all.

Ok I didn't have this perspective since I arrived late and missed the first inning of the game. The intentional or accidental tripping of the Ryle runner probably affected the umpires' views of any event that occurred after that. And I won't be naming names on here regarding Conner's issues. They are obvious to anyone that watches them regularly. The coaches lost the team last year and it spiraled into a disappointing season. They need to get control of this year's team if Conner hopes to make any run during the tournament.

I didn't see the play that created all the craziness. I've seen a still photo of the slide and noted nothing of interest involving the runner or catcher. And word is there is a video of the play but I haven't seen that posted yet. Conner's catcher was ejected after that play. As TT noted there was a long delay but the cause was a Ryle fan who came over to the fence in the midst of the Conner parents and started cursing at a number of Conner women (mothers and grandparents of players). I'm not sure what made this older gentleman do that but it wasn't well received as you can imagine. I was standing 2 feet from the man when this happened. He was asked by me and a couple other parents to make his way back over to the other side but he continued berating some of the parents and refused to go back to the other side of the field. He left once he was informed by a Conner administrator that the police were being called. Beyond all that insanity, the game was well pitched by Maines and See. I thought both threw pretty well. Both got hit a little but were pretty effective. Maines and Williams hit the ball hard for Conner and Baumann smoked one to left center for Ryle. I also noted a nice at bat by Eric Clarkson who took what Maines gave him and lined one to right field. Ryle is the better team right now. Not by a lot. I like a lot of the Ryle players and every one I know is a good kid with a good attitude. Conner's coaches will have to get control of their team and to this point they've tolerated selfish agendas which are preventing any kind of team chemistry to form. JMO.

Good for Henry. Very good young ball player and a great kid.

Fogle out of the lineup again Saturday and Conner lost 2 games. When he's in the lineup the offense and defense are significantly better. We'll see if he's able to play Monday.

Conner plays #11 Tates Creek tonight at Harrison County's tournament. Then they play #22 Shelby County tomorrow. So we'll have a good gauge on any possible ranking after this weekend's results.

Yeah I understand what you're saying. But when the pitching change happened it was a 5-3 game. With Conner not playing again until Wednesday I would have used Hermann and/or Padgett. A win vs. Ryle would have been huge for Conner.

And a couple big Conner misplays made it a 5 run inning rather than 3. You can't make errors against a solid team and expect to win. And perhaps a Conner fan can tell me why the starting pitcher was removed in favor of a JV pitcher??

I'm not surprised Forbes busts it out of the box on a pop up. He always gives 110% on both sides of the ball. And he's obviously one of Ryle's emotional leaders.

He wasn't getting the strike at the knees which is where he lives. I was sitting to the side and saw 9-10 pitches right at the knees called low. Maines and Conner's catcher were both kinda shaking their heads. Certainly added to the pitch count and made Maines have to come up in the zone.

I was told Tanner Norton was in the 1.85-1.9 range. Given that, and these top PG times provided by truthbtold, I find it unlikely Cooper's catcher (or any other local catchers) are 1.8 or even 1.9.

This is almost always a situation where the player in question is coached by his father. 99% of coaches wouldn't tolerate that stuff.

I heard another player curse loudly (twice) but he was not removed from the game. Not sure why there's a difference in how that one was handled.

Schumann for BW. And Ross started for Conner. I know someone just posted Hermann gave up the HR but he didn't Ross did. 0-2 fastball that was supposed to be off the plate and ended up down the middle.

He got two fastballs right down central and hit them both hard. The game winning hit was an 0-2 fastball down the pipe which makes it hurt a little worse for Conner. Both teams looked pretty solid. Worst strike zone I've seen in years. It didn't affect the result cause it was really bad for both teams but it kept the scoring pretty low. BW made a good choice to throw off vs. a good fastball hitting team. BW's pitcher didn't throw hard and had a curve ball and Conner's hitters didn't adjust to the speed. Nice win for BW. Forgot to mention that Jason Suchanek had a nice game hitting it hard a couple times and solid at SS.

It was confusing cause the field ump was signaling home run and the plate ump called it foul. The wind was pushing the ball toward the foul pole the whole way. I think it deceived the plate ump cause the ball landed probably 3 feet foul (I was sitting on 3B side looking right down the line) but the ball carried 30+ feet past the fence. Looked to be 5-8 feet fair at the fence and about 3 feet foul where it landed.
