What Kind of Headphones Do You Like?

Featured Replies

The music thread sparked this question. I listen to music probably 10+ hours a week. I currently have three sets of headphones. One over-ear and two sets of ear buds. I usually rotate them depending on my mood. I currently own a pair of NVX EX10S (earbuds, probably the best I've owned), and a pair of Kicker HP541TJ's. What kind/brand of headphones do you like?

I have Klipsch S4 earbuds and they've been very impressive. I had no idea what I was missing before. I'd like to find a pair of reasonably priced over-ear headphones too, though.

I also have a headphone amplifier. Works really well, especially with my ear buds.

I've never personally heard any Bose. Every Klipsche model I've heard has been awesome.

I just have a pair of SkullCandy earbuds. I love earbuds. I think they are the greatest way to listen to music. I think my Skull Candy headpohones sound better than my son's BeatsbyDre headphones. I'm an old fella now also I guess, what is Klipsch and how much are they for a pair of their earbuds?

Earbuds drive me crazy as well.

I've got a 4 or 5 year old pair of Sony noise-cancelling headphones. I've always been VERY happy with them...although my headphone listening is basically limited to travel - which I don't do that frequently. I think I paid $35 for them new, but the specific model I have (this one) isn't made any more. This is the current comparable model, but they have other pairs that go for $100, $200, $400, and another for $500. I've heard quite a few people (professional studio musicians included) speak very highly of the $200 pair.

We have Klipsch ear buds anywhere from $40 all the way up to $300...

Can't go wrong with Sony, IMO.

This is what I use...Sansui SS-20 Headphones.I'm happy with the sound I get.

My son recently purchased a pair of Beats by Dr. Dre Solo HD On-Ear Headphones with ControlTalk.

I tried them out with my vintage Marantz 1060 amp while listening to Donald Fagen on vinyl.

I have to say that I was impressed.:thumb:

I couldn't imagine putting an amp on Beats... They already crazy loud.

That's interesting.I just did a comparison between Beats and my sansui headphones.

I couldn't hear a increase of volume with Beats.Maybe it has something to do with the turntable going threw a phono preamp.:idunno:

I noticed a difference on mine when going from my phone to my computer. On my phone, I had to play around with the EQ to get the Beats as loud and crisp as they could be. On my computer, they were way louder from the jump.
