What Kind of Headphones Do You Like?

Featured Replies

I noticed a difference on mine when going from my phone to my computer. On my phone, I had to play around with the EQ to get the Beats as loud and crisp as they could be. On my computer, they were way louder from the jump.

Yea it could have something to do with the phono preamp. It's a external DJ phono Preamp that I run through the Aux input. It also may have something to do with the sound card on your computer...

I have a pair of over-the-ear Sennheiser HD 202's for everyday listening. I've been very pleased with them. I also have a pair of Sennheiser Adidas PMX 680i for running. Best running headphones I've owned.

Check out the headphones on monoprice.com. I got some over the ear for $28.

Very comfortable with great sound, my neice said they sound like her beats but don't look as cool

To save over $150 I'll give up on looking cool

I've heard the Beats are way overpriced compared to competitors. How true is that?

They are definitely more expensive than most other headphones, but IMO they are still the best headphones I've ever owned. Some will say others are "better," simply because the price is lower.

Maybe I'm just really cheap, but I don't see the point of havng anything more than the pair of headphones I can get for $2.99 from Wal-Mart. Sure they might not need replaced before all of these fancier head phones, but that's just fine with me.

Makes no sense to me.

If you don't listen for hours at a time, those headphones work. Most people that pay a lot of money spend A LOT of time listening to music, so comfort becomes an issue.

I guess I see what you're saying, but I listen to my headphones probably 5+ hours of the day. I think I'm just really cheap, I blame my father haha!

I'm sure if someone gave them to me as a gift I'd love them, but I just can't bring myself around to spending that much on them. Especially those Beats by Dre, seems more like a status symbol than anything.

:lol2: I will admit, if I didn't get the discount I do, I wouldn't have had any of the headphones I currently own(ed). The ear buds I have retail for $99.99, and I've owned a pair of beats, which retail at about $299.99.

Truth.

I just have a pair of SkullCandy earbuds. I love earbuds. I think they are the greatest way to listen to music. I think my Skull Candy headpohones sound better than my son's BeatsbyDre headphones. I'm an old fella now also I guess, what is Klipsch and how much are they for a pair of their earbuds?

Mrs C has a pair of Klipsch X7i earbuds ($189).I have a pair Skullcandy Heavy Metal earbuds ($79). I like mine better. For my ear, they are just more comfortable, and I hear little or no sound quality difference.

Well, they sound a ton better. You don't have to break the bank to get better quality, but the good stuff is noticeably better. I was blown away by the bass in my earbuds and can hear sounds in songs that I'd never heard before in the cheapos. It's like the difference between watching a movie with the internal laptop speakers versus watching a movie with full 5.1 surround sound.

[Country music joke]

Beats By Dre are obviously the Rolls Royce of headphones nowadays, but I'm cool with my standard iPhone ear buds. The ones that came with the 5 aren't than bad, although I know you can likely purchase much better.
