It's obvious that this is not sustainable. I'm not sure where/when the tipping point is. But eventually the government will move to a single payer system (basically medicaid for everyone). Then the big downhill slide in the quality of medical care will begin. The government will cap what doctors and medical providers can be paid and quality providers will start moving to different professions. If you want to see how well the government manages a national health network, take a look at the VA.

I'm thinking the Senate Republicans will slow roll this and watch the polls heading into the election. If the Dem nominee looks like a lock and the Senate may change hands, they can do a quick confirm if they fear an even more liberal nominee from the next Dem president. If it looks like the Republican will win, they can just postpone an official vote.

I don't think it's impossible to change what's in your heart regarding racist feelings/thoughts. But I think it's pretty rare.

I think the combination of a Dem president and Republican congress might be the best for us economically. At least we're going in the right direction, though it still sucks as the national debt just keeps climbing.
