The Ladycats ran out to a 9-2 lead, which Conner whittled away at to cut it to a 2- point gap at the end of 1. It was back and forth most of the 2nd quarter, save a Lady Cougars spurt with about 2:00 left, which gave them a 30-25 lead at the break. The 3rd was all about the stars as Lily Ashcraft and Izelee Kerns both tossed in 12 apiece for their respective teams. However, Ashcraft’s supporting cast helped a tad more, and the Ladycats took a 47-46 lead to the final stanza. The teams traded blows the rest of the way, and a late turnover sealed the deal for Conner. Pendleton Co had 2 shots in the final seconds to force OT, but came up short. Conner (3-16) will be back in action on Tuesday at home vs. Dixie Heights. We mentioned that on the broadcast...5-6 was definitely not indicative of how solid they are. However, I do think with Ashcraft that Pendleton wins by 10-12 points

Gut wrenching loss for the LadyCats, who were without the services of Senior Lily Ashcraft for the 2nd straight night. Pendleton streaks out to a 10-0 lead, but after a timeout, Beechwood went on a 10-0 run of their own to tie things up. The Lady Cats build a couple of substantial leads (8 and 7 points), but for the most part it was a 2 possession game for much of the contest. Pendleton held a 5 point lead with 1:30 to go, but a pair of clutch 3's by Kennedy Sturgeon (who had only made 8 all season) gave Beechwood a one point lead. Pendleton County had a shot to tie the game with 4.5 seconds to go, but Laci Tackett, who had been perfect from the line all night, missed her 2nd free throw. The Lady Tigers sank a pair of charity tosses to round out the scoring. A special night indeed in the Woodshed. Kam O’Hara started off hot in the 1st quarter with 4 3’s and 16 points. The Cats defensive pressure and up-tempo style gave Heritage fits the entire game, which led to many opportunities on the offensive end. Pendleton led by 24 at the break. At this point O’Hara had six three point buckets, and you could feel he was on the verge of something special. A 30 point 3rd quarter put the running clock into affect, and the only question left was if Kam O’Hara would break the school record. His teammates (Grayson and Keeton especially) worked all night to get him the ball and with 3:19 left in the game, a corner 3 sealed the deal. The old record was 10, set by Cody Sullivan on 1/29/18 against Calvary Christian. With the win, Pendleton improves to 8-7 on the year, while Heritage falls to 1-11. Listened in to this one. @Mustang painted the picture as this one being a grind it out battle, and all signs point to that being true. Cats go back-to back nights with RoCo on Thursday and Heritage on Friday, with that Thursday game the first district seeding game of the campaign.

Pendleton makes a trip to the Cy-Dome tonight to take on Brossart, then a district seeding game at Robertson County on Thursday. They'll close the week with a visit from Heritage Academy. Tonight will by far be the biggest test of the 3...but Thursday is much more important.

Most of the schools we as fans follow have a “calling card” that stays true regardless of the season. Scott is no different: tough, gritty defense…athletic kids who can shoot…fundamentally sound. This Eagles squad checks all those boxes. Both teams got off to a slow start, with Scott grabbing the lead mid-first quarter and never relinquishing it for the duration of the game. I came away rather impressed with the Eagles’ ability to break the press without much issue. The Wildcats made a late-3rd quarter run to get within 12, but a 5-0 spurt by Scott quickly turned the tide for good. Ty Cook led Scott (7-3) with 24 and Hunter Keeton led Pendleton (6-6) with 20 points. Scott is back in action on Monday night in a district seeding matchup at Calvary Christian, while Pendleton county will make the trek up 27 to face Brossart on Tuesday. Final from Falmouth After a slow start in the 1st, the Wildcats picked up the intensity, causing several turnovers in a 26-2 2nd quarter, putting the game in hand before halftime. Every player logged several minutes and all dented the scoring column, led by Kam O’Hara’s 11 points, including 3 dunks. Owen Kennedy paced the Demons with 8. Pendleton County (6-5) will host Scott on Friday night. Williamstown (0-10) travels to Mt. Olivet to take on a winless Robertson County squad in a “something’s gotta give” battle.
