  1. The "Big 3" for Nicholas took turns asserting their dominance over the LadyCats. Pendleton cut the Nicholas lead to 4 on several occasions in the first half, but could get no closer. Both teams advance to next weeks 10th Region Tournament at Bourbon County, with the draw on Saturday morning.
  2. I'm hoping a College Basketball game is coming next
  3. 29-11 run to end the game for Pendleton County. What a great atmosphere! Hats off to the trio of Robertson County Lady Devils who played their final game: Ruby Gay, Krysta Hamm, and Lily Monroe. They all battled until the very end... Gay and Hamm both eclipsed the 1000 point mark in their careers.
  4. This one was all Lady Jackets from tip to horn. Nicholas County's stifling trap defense gave the Fillies trouble all night long, leading to several transition baskets. As @Randy Parker stated, Freshman Maggie Simons led all scorers with 24. Bailee Hudgins paced Harrison with 9. Nicholas County (21-10) advances to the 38th District Championship on Thursday night at 7:00 against the Pendleton County LadyCats, as well as next weeks 10th Region Tournament at Bourbon County. Harrison County end their season at 9-22. They lose no seniors from this team, so things should be on an upswing next year.
  5. 38TH District kicks off tonight from Pendleton Co HS. #1 Nicholas County vs #4 Harrison County #2 Robertson County vs #3 Pendleton County Championship game is Thursday Coverage begins at 5:30 with the Postseason Preview Show: https://www.youtube.com/@pendletoncountyschooldistr6765
  6. IMO, the best game of the early district rounds will be Pendleton vs. Nicholas. The Cats had leads in the 4th quarter on both occasions, and failed to hold on.
  7. Final from Falmouth Big win for the Wildcats in the final regular season game for both teams. The first 10 minutes were a back and forth affair, with the Greendevils tied it at 19 apiece. After that, the rout was on. Pendleton County went on a 39-9 run to put the game out of reach. 12 Wildcats dented the scoring column, led by Alex Beyst's career high 30, with the final free throw cementing his spot as the 21st member of Pendleton County's 1000 point club. Aden Merrill (11), Austin Kirsch (11), and Hunter Jack (10) all reached double digits for the Wildcats (11-16). Mason Johnson led Dayton (5-22) with 21 points, including 6 three pointers. Dayton is back in action Monday night against Bellevue in the opening round of the 36th District Tournament at Newport HS. Pendleton County will get their 3rd shot at Nicholas County in the 38th District Semifinals on Tuesday night in Carlisle.
  8. I HATE to be that guy (especially on something like this), but the Brossart streak is actually 22. I don't see it stopping tomorrow night.
  9. The gap between 7 and 10 is fairly small, IMO
  10. Will have to beat them on back to back nights (unless they draw one of them in the 1st round)
  11. Correction: The streak is now 25. Will go for #26 Friday night vs. the Royals
  12. That was win #399 in Buddy Biggs' career. It also ran the home winning streak for the Panthers to 24. The next opponent: Mason County. Sometimes the storylines write themselves.
  13. If you hadn't noticed Fleming County, you should be now!
  14. 1. Murray 2. Lyon County 3. Daviess County 4. Bowling Green 5. LaRue County 6. Evangel Christian 7. Trinity 8. North Oldham 9. Covington Catholic 10. Campbell County 11. Great Crossing 12. Wayne County 13. Harlan County 14. Knott County Central 15. Pikeville 16. Boyd County
  15. Doesn't matter. If you can get a kid eligible in February, you can win a Region you're not even in!
  16. She got those 32 in the flow of the game...never forced anything, but made sure the ball was in her hands when it got close. The 10th is really blessed with some young talent: Maggie, Kennedy Stamper (GRC), Lily Ashcraft and Hannah Spaulding (Pendleton), and Lexi Young (Mason Co) to name just a few.
  17. Final from Falmouth Maggie Simons showed why she's one of the best young player in the area and led the Lady Jackets to a win over Pendleton County. The Ladycats would get the deficit down to a single possession on several occasions, but could not take the lead. Simons led all scorers with 32, including 12/17 from the line. Tessa Humphries would add 16 for Nicholas County. Lily Ashcraft paced Pendleton County with 20 and Hannah Spaulding and Kearstin Mayer added 16 and 12, respectively. We could have a repeat of this matchup in 2 weeks in the 38th District Championship. Nicholas County 20-11-13-18-62 Pendleton County 11-17-09-16-52
  18. Final from Falmouth The Wildcats started off hot, but foul trouble on Austin Kirsch would be their undoing. Preston Blake took advantage of a smaller Pendleton County lineup and dominated the paint in the 2nd quarter, scoring 10 of his game high 18 points. Wyatt Clark overcame a slow start to finish with 13 for the Bluejackets. Aden Merrill led the Wildcats with 18. The win moves Nicholas County to 4-1 in district play. A win next Tuesday against Robertson County would force a tiebreaking coin flip between them and Harrison County for the #1 seed in the district. Nicholas County 05-13-21-16-55 Pendleton County 11-10-13-17- 51
  19. Pendleton 49 Harrison 42 38th District is now set : 1) Nicholas County vs. 4) Harrison County 2) Robertson County vs. 3) Pendleton County 2/3 seed could change spots if Pendleton beats Nicholas on Monday night. Would be coin flip to break tie.
  20. 1) Campbell County (bye) Brossart vs. Scott in the semi
