ok. Born to Run was great. Born in the USA was overrated. Decent lyricist, but a lot of his songs sound the same. Instrumentally, his group was far from innovative. They played straight ahead rock and roll with a lot of energy. You could argue his music never really evolved.

Creative Cause. Maybe too dumb to win but should be in the money.

Maybe this should be it's own thread. Great topic. Again, great accomplishment for the young lady. -

The only change needed at state level to be made is seeding. The districts are silly where teams advance when they lose. Have a region tourney and be done with it. Best team moves on. -

Was this the result of poor shooting or did he struggle to get open? -

Cov Cath parents have no reason to complain, the team is awful without him. Jealousy? Maybe. -

Correct. Imagine how dreadful they would be without him? They had no point guard who would do that. They had no big man who could take pressure off of a mediocre point guard. No shooting guard who can create off the dribble and get space for his own shot. No other player can create their own shot. The fact they are now playing Schuh and Heppler should tell you the strength, or lackthereof, of the returning cast. -

This. The press hides their many deficiencies as a team. I've said it all year. They have little talent. Ruthsatz makes everyone look better than they really are. Take him off the team and they would be lucky to win half of what they have won. -
No coach wins without Ruthsatz. Kid makes all better. It would have been ugly without him. Talent is not there.

This has been the concern from the beginning of the year. This team would be dreadful if Ruthsatz did not transfer in. There is not one guy who is an offensive threat, who can create a shot on his own. It is all about Ruthsatz getting them a ball off a screen or when the defense collapses on him and he dumps it down low. To think differently is foolish. There are so many role players and only one "player". -

Holmes vs Covington Catholic Predictions
kyyank replied to cityboy's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Not sarcastic. Pauly does a nice job on D. Plus CCH is great at trapping and help D. They don't stand around and watch another player go one-on-one. Key to the game. If Holmes is quick enough to break the trap, they will be going one on one which will be to their advantage. -
Holmes vs Covington Catholic Predictions
kyyank replied to cityboy's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
You can say this about most teams, stop their best player and you win. While CCH has 4 in double figures, it all starts with Ruthsatz creating opportunities for these guys. His penetration has given Tobler so many easy buckets that he does not get on his own. He can kick it out to Frederick for shots Frederick cannot create on his own. So, yes CCH has 4 in double figures, but on their own, only one is an offensive threat by themselves. -

Very little substitution in second half until late in 4th quarter. Played starters all 3rd period when they pulled ahead. First sub came on when Hayden gets hurt. -

Tobler probably led them in scoring as they dished to him for layins throughout game. Cov Cath struggled with rebounding against some taller fellas. Some poor shot selection at times. Transition lay ups and solid passing by Ruthsatz. I have never seen a kid throw up more off balance three pointers than 14 for McNick.
