  1. Demographics will make it tough to compete. BC has become an inner city school. You have got to take charge of those boys as freshman or they will get lost.
  2. ACDC Genesis Elvis Costello Tull Pat Benatar Rush Beach boys/Greg Kihn Outlaws Who/Clash/David Johansen Petty Buffet Neil Young Little Feat Neil Diamond Radiators Allman Brothers ZZ Top Kinks Yes Police Squeeze Journey CSN Grateful DeaD
  3. Had tickets through a friend for the VH Diver Down tour, I believe. EVH broke his thumb, cancelled shows. One of the disappointments was U2 on the War tour, w/Marshall Crenshaw and the Alarm. Summer concert, no AC, left early. Never saw them again.
  4. Mike and Mike are unlistenable. They completely follow the ESPN agenda. They will beat an issue to death. The others do a better job of mixing it up with guests, topics, sports, etc. M&M are more an extension of SportsCenter than a radio show, and we all know how bad that has become.
  5. Leaving politics out of it, the guy was one of the best at what he did. Yeah, I read the book. The book also stated he was the best at writing, reciting and off the cuff witticism. the biggest on-air complaint is that he may come across too high brow or share anecdotes, like Dennis Miller, that would go over the heads of the audience. He is better than 99% of that station.
  6. Sure some alcohol tastes good. A cold beer tastes good. Bourbon, yes. Scotch, on the other hand, is not for the taste. Scotch is for those who have given up hope.
  7. Ruthsatz is not X material. Nice player but Bolden is the man.
  8. Coach L came flyyying down like a madman. Had no business being there and deservedly got T'd up.Coach R was complaining about a TO they tried to call. He was satisfied with refs response then asked a question or questioned or pointed out something Holmes was doing which I think sparked Coach L. Coach R was on the CC baseline while Coach L was on his bench, so no way Coach L could hear what was being said. The gestures Coach R made were minimal. So, as stated, Coach L lost it. He had no business being there in the middle of it. He is not the head coach.
  9. There was no drama. Ruthsatz was having a chat with ref and Listerman comes flying down, flailing about. He lost his composure. It appears he has some separation issues.
  10. Sweeper, you are off base. The intentional foul was intentional but it was not a hard foul. He wrapped his arms around him to prevent him from getting away. The technical foul was questionable. It was hard. The guy kept going to the hoop. Tobler can't be sure if they are calling it in the act of shooting, continuation, so he fouls to prevent a basket and possible 3 point play. CC was not trying to get under Holmes skin.
  11. Odd game. From huge lead early for CC to Listerman T, to double fouls but count the basket and foul out Englemon. Ripley's.
  12. May not be struggling for business but that Boathouse location must have some high overhead. Golden Corral for the win. All you can eat, topped off with ice cream. Wear your favorite sweat pants or elastic coaches shorts.
  13. Last I checked the cake factory is located in Campbell County. If neither league is funded by public money then both should have the same access to advertising in the schools.
  14. I said nothing is wrong with DIII ball. It's the unrealistic expectation of a college basketball scholarship by the parents that cause them to complain bitterly about coaching and drive good coaches away.
  15. It starts with the parents. I can guess it starts with scholarship expectations for their 3rd grade AAU superstar they have on their hands. I got news for them. Check out how many 6'2 white kids are playing D-1 ball, who can't jump over the Sunday paper. Very few. For all their grade school success, they won't play higher than D III at TMC. Nothing wrong with that. But, when mom and dad realize that by Johnny's sophomore year that Coach is not fulfilling their dream for Johnny, it gets ugly. You're freaking Walton, KY! You don't grow D I players! Live with it.
  16. Hit up Pelican's Reef on Beechmont last night. Good seafood. Lobster mac and cheese. Quick run f/NKY, 275 to Five mile to Beechmont, left on Beechmont and 1st strip mall on left. 15 MINUTES. Again, good seafood. Had an oyster po' boy, missus had shrimp tacos.
  17. Define relatively cheap. I'm partial to Henry Clays, Punch's and Te Amo's for a cheap cigar. My go to stogies are CAO's, Romeo y Juliet and Hoyo De Monterrey's.
  18. Careful on roofers. A lot are shysters, to the point where they have defrauded the insurance for years, causing your homeowner rates to rise. A little hail? You need a new roof. Thank God technology and insurance enhancements are enabling the carriers to crack down on these shady practices.
  19. A cheerleading board certainly has more promise than the tennis board one guy wants. hey, we get it your kid plays tennis. That is what Facebook is for. Cheerleading, on the other hand, has so much potential. Females joining BGP, the cattiness, mothers with unrealistic expectations (yes, they are worse than dads). What's not to like?
  20. Don't play dumb with me, I'm too good at that! The wind just broke his leg.
  21. Are you kidding? The early episodes were the best. Trapper, Henry, Frank. Once they left, Alda took the show and made it a drama with a few laughs thrown in. MASH was overrated beyond the first three years.
  22. False. Both have excellent teachers and bad ones as well. Some choose to go private route because money is not an issue. Some choose to go private route because there is not as much remedial learning needed, nor discipline issues. I had teachers who were consultants, worked side gigs, were alums and others just dedicated to their faith. Variety of reasons. Public does pay better but with money comes more problems.
  23. Club volleyball and club soccer are for those who can afford it to a great extent, check out the rosters from NKYVC and their ilk and you will see a lot from the parochial ranks. Very little minority representation. Yes, these are open tryouts, but a lot lack the means to make the financial commitment to joining the team.
  24. Johnson, Smith and Sims, then some db's. The rest are replaceable.
  25. A school is only as good as it's parents and the numbers who care. The difference is in the student, their desire and their parents desire for them to succeed, giving them tools to succeed. Parents consciously send their kids to NDA, CCH or Highlands in some cases, when out of district, with the belief their kids will get a better education. Part of that better education is like-minded parents staying involved.
