Did Ashland play in Louisville this weekend or maybe next weekend ??

several members off the old cincy doom 95 have flat out tore it up as D-1 freshman . I know Casie Hutchinson at OU , Maddy at JMU , and Emily Anderson at Toledo have all had superb starts to their college careers . Hats off ladies . Mckenna Miller at MTSU also is doing well. Add on Kayla Koch at BGSU in 2015 and you can see why the old Doomers were a tough bunch. Its one thing to make a D1 roster , this group all starts at key positions and have succeeded as freshman -- truly GREAT !

There are no softball pitching rules as far as innings pitched in any sanction ( sans LL) - someone might be trying to protect their interest .

Believe they play in Leweyville this weekend. I know the east doesnt get any respect at all but most years Ashland fields a solid team and wins a couple in the sweet 16 . This year led by U of L recruit Megan Hensley and shes a beast in the circle . Low 60's with good control and spin. Pretty solid team behind her but not offensively a juggernaut . But if you dont score you cant beat them . Shut out ( no hit ) state ranked Wheelersburg Oh ( Led by LSU verbal Michal Cunningham) last tues to hand the Burg their first loss . Girl can pitch.

I guess we should let 12u kids drive a car then ? NO 12u an 14 u KIDS can not decide whats best for them -- are you a parent ? I'm the farthest thing in the universe from a " govt watch out for me guy " but regulation is needed for the safety of the players whose parents allow 12 and 14 year olds tell mom and dad " I'm the boss and I'm not wearing that mask" My opinion is based towards the pitcher ONLY but smart corners who play the game correctly ( crowd bunters ) should wear the mask also . How many pitchers with mangled faces need to be photo'ed in the OR before everyone wises up ? Ky's ace wears one , bless her courageous heart .

Here in the 16th region the all A winner is rarely if ever a threat to win the region .

We play them in Boyd co's event next week .

I like it . I agree with the all A challenge as it is . Having said that I dont know the specifics of how dominate any certain small school is . What I dont like too much is opening it up to AA sized schools . I'm pretty certain Russell from the 16th plays in the A challenge ( pardon me if I'm mistaken) but I dont see them as small at all. It is what it is -- the SMALL school state champ , nothing more , nothing less .

Homering against a pac 12 team is dang impressive , DOOM power . I bet I taught her something way back when that helped her hit that ... LOL !!!!

If she stays in Ky . Montana Fouts 14u kid -- not sure on 7th or 8th grade, in East Carter school system. Will challenge Ashlands stranglehold on the 16th . Throwing a legit mid 60's . ( no jokes needed ) played for Laser Orange and currently committed to throwing for the Birmingham Thunderbolts this summer . Didnt give up a run against very good 14's in No Ohio last weekend .

its likely the coach ordered it , but we have zero clue what was said in that huddle . Heck for all we are 100% certain the catcher possibly could have left the pitcher uninformed as to what was going on . I know -- its unlikely but before we crucify everyone involved the facts should be considered . We dont know what was said in that huddle. As far as intentionally harming the ump -- I do assume there is a extremely small chance he could have been injured . He does wear head and chest protection and I've never seen a ump seriously injured from a pitch before -- bruised arms and shins for sure but that setup was for embarrasing the blue not injuring him. NO I dont condone it and NO it shouldnt happen . Would like to know the whole story before making a final judgement. And some of you must not get out much, I've seen far worse by 12u hockey players ( slashing a players head with a stick )

Since it was a Minors Gold game I'd guess Heybucket is blowing up on that incident ??

Lots to consider here . First there is zero proof the coach ordered it . Girls at that age and level know every trick in the book .. I saw that coming a mile away. So the girls might have done it on their own. I have no problem with retaliation IF it is protecting one of my own players . Who knows what this blue might or might not have done to have this dirty trick pulled on him. Dont think fastpitch is some clean game played by angels , its dog eat dog at the top. I've seen dozens of intention beanings , this just happened to be a blue getting plunked .
