One of my daughters friends and former team mates starts with BG this fall . Her dad and me are buddies , I like the coach up there , she seems cool to me . Kayla Koch is her name , big time power hitter .

I live in ptown , Ribber steak is pretty dang awesome . Sat night wait can be rather off putting , an hour to set , 45 or so eat . service is rough in there because its so crowded . If you go during the week its normally not busy at all.

Great to be competing against the best players in the nation

no they skip the event . Of course they compete . What are getting at ? you have to be a powerhouse to be in the geographical area that host the event ?

Bowling green is over 4 hours from Ashland , you think it's fair to parents grandparents and friends/ fans to have to arrange for an overnight stays while several other regions can just drive 1/2 hr or an hour ? If it can't be in central ky then rotate it back and forth between eastern ky and western ky .

Not uncommon for flight times to interrupt late games on sunday at a week long exposure tourney , by sunday a great majority of the college coaches are gone . The goal of going there is long accomplished by sunday . Winning , or placing highly is gravy , took me a while to understand that but at 15-16u it sinks in.

16th region powerhouse Ashland I assume will be looking for a head coach . Coach Miller is going to start the softball program at Ky Christian Uni. in Grayson. And I know he is building a very solid roster . The seasons overlap , I guess he wouldnt try to keep both jobs . He has absolutely dominated the 16th the past few years . Solid coach for sure .

The link opens for me , try just google searching it and going from there .. anyway it appears the Dynamites failed to make the Platnium Pool and won a couple games in the Gold Bracket as a 7 seed . Lost to the Loose Cannons .

The team I used to coach - Cincy Doom 02 ( 11u ) based out of Portsmouth Oh . played in the 12u division. They run ruled or nearly run ruled all their pool play opponents and finished second in bracket play to the Ny Ky Stealers . 12 team field, and from second hand reports most were of the B level. NOT that there were not some good teams there , but the majority were younger or inexperienced 12u teams . Didnt get any reports on how well the tourney was ran .

malachi-- I did but they didnt have many specials that pm ( a Tuesday) had a flounder dish but I wasnt interested in that . Also wanted a " happy family" but told it was not available that night.

The visit to Kung Food's amerasia was outstanding . Pork " Get in my Belly" made with Pork Belly was fantastic and the wifes Pad Thai was very good as was a take out of original " Kung Po " chicken . Ordered it 10 on a 1-10 scale and it was just right !!! had a great craft beer that I cant pronounce nor spell also .

Heading to Amera-asia ( sp ?) tomorrow before the Reds game for some craft beer and good Asian food.

Would be good to know how the conversation took place between the three blind mice . Obviously they meet to discuss the matter , Only 1 of three even remotely possibly made any move signaling ground rule double. So you have two guys who saw HR , and one dufus who might have saw GR double . How does the two who made no call be influenced by the one guy ? At that point in the game with Ashland dejected because they knew LOST and JC celebrating because THEY KNEW THEY WON how in the world does Blue change the call . All three should never ever NEVER call another HS game . Letem' go do little league .

What a disaster . I root for Ashland but if I knew that ball cleared the fence I'm not begging for it to be overturned .

I live here in portsmouth and follow SSU a bit . Can someone help me out with season stats and type of pitcher this young lady is ? Power and speed ?

I didnt take the time to read the whole thread , I'll assume it post season awards and the head shaking that goes on after it . Here my addition of a few tears to the cry bucket -- 2 years in a row our team has went undefeated in our conference . 2 years in a row the POY has went to some one other than a player from our team . This year the POY award went to the pitcher of the SECOND place team that we beat 7-1 and 11-1 . In neither game was she outstanding at the plate or in the field ( 2 throwing errors in the 1st game from the circle ) and she's a sophomore . The kid we nominated hit right above 500 , batted leadoff , led our team in runs scored , BA , and has 3 total errors in 20 plus games at SS . Furthermore that player we pounded twice is now a two time 1st team all state selection while for the second year in a row we didnt have a player receive any all state consideration . To get even more ridiculous our league ( which is gawd awful --we gave up 6 total runs in 14 games this season and were just as dominate last year ) had three SS's receive all state awards while our SS that hit 500 with nearly no errors at SS got no mention . This year the C from 3rd place team received 2nd team all state while ours got notta ! We run ruled them twice. frustrating .
