Corbin's D also played very tough. I think the TV said Corbin only had 130 yards and North was also under 200 or so. The kick return after half time turned the tide. A bounce here and there and this game easily could have been 14-13 or so. Very closely played game.

South's defense is very good. If they can find a way to score, this could be closer than you think.

I agree. North dominated. I bet they had 10+ tackles for loss. The refs made it an interesting finish.

North dominated the entire game and was up 20-3 late. South made a furious comeback and got 2 scores in under 2 minutes to go thanks to a north fumble late. North recovered an onside kick with under a minute to go and ran out the clock. That's two in a row for the Jaguars over the Cardinals.

I thought Letcher was the favorite in that district? I know Hazard is good...but thats a 5A school. Are they worse than advertised?

Colleges begin in the second week of august because they don't play until September. College players are working almost every day year round. They can start later because they have been doing stuff pretty much non-stop.

Williamsburg will score at will in this one. Harlan couldn't stop a young Corbin from scoring 50, Williamsburg has a great offense. Could get ugly.

North is coming off a win against Williamsburg. South is coming off a tough loss to Knox. North won last year South owns the series 12-6. Who wins the Battle for Laurel County 2010?

At one point it was 28-0. It was really never closer than that. JV was in very early in the fourth for North. Young players gave up 2 of the 3 touchdowns and a bad call set up the third. And since when is a 21 point win not a blow out? Besides, Williamsburg has a good squad and good coaches. This isn't some run of the mill small team. They are good.

Cumberland Valley Bowl 10 Knox jumped out to an early lead on South, scored on the first play, although South moved the ball well and had some chances. Knox looks very good. North jumped on Williamsburg early, 20 to 0 at half. Williamsburg went 3 and out to start the 2nd half and the jags scored to make it 28-0. Jackets couldn't stop the Jags on the ground all night, but their offense looks like it could be very good. All four teams should do well this year

They haven't had much success over the past two seasons. However, they are in a BRUTAL district and seemed to be more competitive last season. I know they have top notch facilities. I've heard they have a great guy with a great background as their coach. Whats the problem do you think? Numbers?

Um, that's an illeagal use of police resources. You can't just run a plate like that. That's not true. Not even close. Contracts are pay and walk. The buyout compensates if the other team can't find a game. Dead wrong.
