After having trounced PRP, 59-7, the Bruins travel to Poplar Level Road to take on St. X in the Tigers' opener Friday night. Both teams have some superb players: Ballard - Parker and Hardin and St. X - Hall, Beach and McMurray. Some think this might be the year Ballard contends with X and Trinity for the top 6A spot in Jefferson County.

Who wins this game and why?

Sounds like the "Rock Crew" want some early scouting reports on their two main roadblocks to the 6A title. I thought that Trinity was playing Lawrence North, IN this week. :sssh:

Prediction: Saint Xavier 189 - Ballard 189

After neither team can gain an advantage after 34 overtime periods, the officials declare it a tie, and therefore "no contest" on the teams' records. Check's Catering Service provides free breakfasts for both exhausted teams

A game under their belt helps Ballard take an early lead in the game, but the Tigers roar back and make Paul Young's white socks proud by winning 28 - 14

The outcome of this one may depend on the health of a couple of key Tiger backs. I've heard McMurray, Hayden and Brohm were all questionable.

It may be tough going on offense this week with so many key players out for thr Tigers.

I think I just heard a MAJOR BOMB dropped in this thread!! Time to get out of Dodge. :walk:

Did ST X scrimmage Henry Clay last week if so what happened?

In the full game condition varsity portion: St. X. 42 - Henry Clay 0

In the one quarter of JV play: St. X. 7 - Henry Clay 0

Wow I thought Henry Clay would have scored once or twice.

St. X. has a good defense, and Henry Clay's offense played poorly, giving up three interceptions in the 1st half. It was Henry Clay's first scrimmage, while St. X. had scrimmaged Fern Creek the week before.

And we're the #1 team for what reason again?

And we're the #1 team for what reason again?

Because we didn't scrimmage OR play a game this week, therefore salvaging our record. :D

And we're the #1 team for what reason again?

How can you still be in the dark? TRINITY BEAT HIGHLANDS AT HIGHLANDS.....nothing else needs to be said! :isurrender: :scared: :isurrender:

P.S.: To further reinforce why Trinity is #1 over St. X. just go to Jody Demling's Courier-Journal Blog and look at his listing of the Top Players in Kentucky who are on the varsity (Classes of 2011, 2012, 2013). I'm trying to see if there is anyone on the Rock roster who is not on Demling's list. :notworthy:

By the way, to get back on track, we are in BIG TROUBLE with Ballard this Friday. Our secondary was embarrassed by Parker last year, and it will only get worse this year with a better passing QB in Wallace throwing the ball. Plus with a mature OL and Hardin running the ball, Ballard is balanced, so we'll have to play honest on defense.

From what I understand HC was able to complete a few "bombs" on the Tiger secondary. Thye were not equipped to do much with those - as I hear tell -- altho that again could be attributable to the X-D.

I think some questions might get answered this Friday.

Are the Tigers down??

Has B really arrived and are they serious contenders ???
