Don't they have a new coach? How many seniors did they lose?

Bert Browne is the new coach. Browne quarterbacked Madison Central during his high school days, and previously coached at Perry County Central, where he compiled a 7-4 record in 2009. Last year, PCC lost in the first round of the 5A state playoffs at Pulaski County by a score 35-21, with Pulaski eventually making the semi-finals before being blown out by Highlands.

I don't know much about what Central has coming back personell-wise this year, but their schedule would indicate that they either have a fair amount of talent returning or will take some tough loses considering their playing: North Laurel, Bell County, Newport Central Catholic, Ballard, Lexington Catholic, PRP, Tates Creek, Clark County, and newly formed Marth Layne Collins (in Shelby County).

Any thoughts, insight, etc. would be appreciated.

I believe Central will struggle greatly this year, I've heard they were Junior heavy, but with this schedule wins will be few a far between!

I would be really surprised if MC can win more than 2-3 games (and that may be a stretch). They are on a run of some bad classes and the schedule is not very forgiving. If the new coach can survive this first year then the future is promising.

Wins against N. Laurel, New Cath, and Collins. Possible wins against Clark and Tates Creek.

You know...I'll root for Central in many circumstances, it being the closest 6A school to where we reside. But, I wouldn't count those chickens before they hatch on some teams like N. Laurel. The younger Larkey has kind of put that team into another gear and I've seen their linemen at camp and their skilled positions play in 7 on 7. They're no stinkeroo! They look pretty good and they are just one class down at 5A, so Central won't overwhelm them with substitutions. Central had better strap their helmets on or they might get them knocked off by a blue and green blur.

Would not be a shock for N. Laurel to beat Central considering they did go 0-9 last year. But I believe Central will have too many athletes for N. Laurel.
