The high school I taught at ,never once took off for the state tournament. I think that if schools are playing in the state tournament ,then they should turn out school for the day of the game and thats all. Just my opinion.
The OVC teams were all very inconsistent throughout the whole season. It was hard to tell who was going to beat who. I watched all of Eastern's games . I was there at all the home games and watched the away games on the OVC network. It was just hard to figure out who was the best but Eastern won the games that put them in the big tournament. They got hot at the right time and that's what counts.
I don't think Hood and Polson were tired when he took them out sr nite. He couldn't wait to get them out to get his 5 star players in. Hood is the best shooter on the UK team but not much of a chance to play.
Clark Co had that game won but had a breakdown in the final 2 minutes of the game with a couple of bad shots, a turnovers and fouling a three point shot. They played good defense and had great hustle and coach had an excellent game plan but a few mental errors caused them to come away 3 points short. Good game to watch.
Doesn't necessarily have to be a D1 or D2 school. Kids who score well in high school think college ball is going to be a cakewalk and go sit on the bench 4 years. College ball is a different game and is getting tougher. I've seen 15 NAIA games and 14 OVC games live this year and in both divisions theres nothing easy.
Just make a wise decision and go somewhere you can play and have fun. Big sounds better but sometimes it's not the best decision.
