Trinity 70 George Rogers Clark 64
Bluegrass Hoops Report replied to gold sunrise's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Sewell and Epley are an underrated one-two combo. If they play this well the rest of the season, the Rocks will be hard to beat. 27-of-30 is an AMAZING stat, especially for a team with a lot of young players in the supporting cast. Check out our re-cap. -
I think Zollo is the difference maker in this game. If he can dominate the paint Trinity will have a tough time. That being said, I think T's defense is playing too well right now to let anyone dominate them. I'm taking the Rocks in the upset: Trinity 64, Clark 62 Check out our game preview: http://bluegrasshoops.blogspot.com/2009/12/king-of-bluegrass-preview-trinity-vs.html

Trinity 69 McEachern, GA 46
Bluegrass Hoops Report replied to Walter's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Szabo is a great defensive coach and he has this team buying into his system. This is Szabo's best defensive team since the 2004 Sweet 16 run with Brohm, Nix, Berry and the Saxton twins. -

Yep, Quick is going to be a special player for the Rocks. Hopefully he will stick around and not go to some basketball academy. He started 9 games for the varsity football team but everyone I've talked to around the program seems to think basketball is his favorite sport. Great win for Trinity. I especially like how they won this game with a total team effort - Sewell only had 11 points. Taylor Epley may be one of the more underrated seniors in the 7th Region. He has an all-around game. -

A battle of the Donovan's as Iroquois star and IUPUI signee Donovan Gibbs is set to battle with Shelby's Donovan Johnson in the first game of the King of the Bluegrass Classic at Fairdale. Will Elisha Justice Be All He Can Be?
Bluegrass Hoops Report replied to Wireman's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I think Justice will continue to get offers as the season goes along. It will be interesting to see what he decides to do, because Louisville doesn't have a big need for a point guard with Peyton Siva and Preston Knowles returning and Russ Smith on the way, so I'm not so sure Pitino will give Elisha a scholarship to keep him. -

A little slow at times but very exciting at the end. Sewell and Chiles put on a show individually. -

The Big Ten Conference released a statement at 4 p.m. today that they will explore the possibility of an expansion from 11 to 12 teams in the next 12 to 18 months. Rumors are swirling around Louisville and Notre Dame, but the leading candidates will likely be Pittsburgh and Missouri. Click here for the full story.

Ballard is arguably the hottest team in the state, and many consider Trinity to be underrated. These 7th region rivals feature two vastly different styles - basically Ballard likes to play fast and force turnovers, Trinity likes to play slow and get defensive stops. THS is led by senior Miami (OH) signee Josh Sewell, while Ballard is led by seniors Ian Chiles and Keisten Jones (Bellarmine signee). I really like the Rocks here. I think they're style of play mixed with home court advantage and a strong performance by Sewell are the right recipe for an upset of the Bruins. T - 55, B - 52 What say you??

Totally agree. Harrison was a great player but did not fit Szabo's system very well. -
