If sewell keeps playing like this he should make a serious push for Mr. Basketball. The Ballard game tuesday should be a great indicator of how good he and the Rocks really are. Ballard\Trinity is always a good game, looking forward to it.

They were noticeably tired in the final period. Those calls did swing the momentum towards Jtown, and once that happened FC didnt have enough left to pull back into it. And saying that most of those turnovers were unforced is just wrong.

Guyn's numbers dont look too hot, and I wasn't impressed with him in the Ballard game. Anybody that saw this game have any insight on how he played?

I agree, it was apparent that Franklin Co. was worn out in the 4th quarter. J-town's depth and pressure defense had them gassed by the final period. Hall and Jennel (sp?) had great games for the Flyers but you can only expect so much out of two young kids. They both played nearly the entire game and scored more than half the team's points.

This team will go as Josh Sewell goes. Heard he struggled a bit against Shelby Co. good to see him bounce back and get a big win for the Rocks

He made some big plays tonight. Took a little while for him to get going, but he was very clutch down the stretch. Vance Hall for Franklin Co was very impressive as well. Had 16 points in the first half and 14 in the second. Just a pure scorer. He should be getting more recogntition

Franklin County kept it close all night led by Vance Hall's 30-points, but J-Town's pressure defense and athleticism proved to be too much for the Flyers. J-town's Thomas Jackson came up with some huge defensive plays, offensive rebounds, and clutch free throws down the stretch to seal the win, finishing with a team high 27-points. Sometimes the numbers dont really tell the whole story. Ballard didnt play as well offensively in the second half due in large part to their own style of play. The Bruins, much like SC, run a wide-open offense and they in particular rely heavily on the three, leaving them susceptible to cold streaks. They were still getting the same looks in the second half that they got in the first, the difference was they just weren't falling and they weren't taking as good care of the ball. The only thing I saw SC key on successfully in the second half was Devante Parker who they did a good job on, but Chiles, Jones, etc. were still getting lots of open looks. And I said that SC underachieved last year because they didnt make it to the Sweet 16 after being ranked nationally in some preseason polls. They should go undefeated in state for 2 1/2 months. They have the talent to go undefeated all season. I am not trying to bash SC by the way. I was rooting for them last night. I think they are a lot of fun to watch (at times). I am just frustrated that they havent come close to meeting their potential yet.

I should re-phrase. Coach Hicks is obviously a great coach. I have just watched this talented group of guys underachieve since the beginning of last season and I don't think they run any real offense and their defensive effort has been very lackluster. It's just frustrating. Obviously Coach Hicks has a proven track record though, and hopefully he can pull everything together.

Yep, they have no team chemistry. But I don't think that they're all just about themselves - Euton is a team player and a leader, he just doesnt get the ball enough so when he does he feels like he has to shoot. I think Jackson really wants to win. But Guyn is the one who looked like the troublemaker on the team. I saw him blow off his teammates twice during free-throw situations, once shunning a team huddle even after Euton tried to tell him to join in, then another time neglecting to give Jackson a high-five, just left him hanging. Coach Hicks needs to learn how to run an offense and teach defensive fundamentals and effort. The only reason why I would keep them in my top-10 is because of the sheer amount of talent they posses. A team that loaded should be going undefeated in Kentucky.

After last night's game, I dont see anyone on Scott Co winning Mr Basketball except for maybe Chad Jackson. I'd move Trinity's Josh Sewell into the mix with Justice, Jackson, and the Holmes duo. Rico Johnson and Elisha Justice are my favorites, with Sewell as the sleeper

Ballard started this game off so hot it looked like they were going to run Scott Co. off the court. If it weren't for Keisten Jones and Devante Parker having to sit out much of the second quarter due to foul trouble, they would've gone into half leading by 20 and not 6. GeLawn Guyn was very disappointing to me. Not a very team-oriented player, which is what you want at the PG position. Tyrell Means' fourth quarter performance was incredible. Game MVP for sure. Why haven't I heard of this guy before??? If Scott County wants to go all the way this year, they have got to run some offense or at least learn to move the ball around. Way too much individual play and hardly any team chemistry. Its sad to watch a team full of great players like that go to waste because of poor execution.
