Trinity 69 McEachern, GA 46

Featured Replies

Big win for the Rocks. Very impressive showing considering McEachern beat Holmes last night.

Trinity advances to play Clark Co in the semi finals of the KOB.

McEachern will play Memphis Central in the 5th place bracket.

Not to take anything away from Trinity, but this makes Holmes loss to McEachern look bad. They're supposed to the best team in Kentuckey, but they haven't looked like it so far this year.

Congrats to the Shamrocks

 Surprised in the margin they won by. Congrats to the Rocks Very impressive win.

Congrats to the Shamrocks

I agree.

It's tough to get a true feel for Holmes right now though. They obviously have the talent considering they beat Memphis Central (45-40), who had Clark Co beat tonight before a prayer was answered for Purvis at the buzzer. The loss to McEachern does look bad though.

With that said, this shows that Trinity is a legit team. It'll be interesting to see how their defense handles Clark's balanced offense Monday night.

Trinity 69, McEachern (Ga.) 46: Josh Sewell had 19 points and 10 rebounds, Taylor Epley had 11 points and Charles Foster 10 for the Shamrocks. Trinity will play Clark County in the semifinals on Monday at 7:30 p.m.

I saw the first half before I left but No. 22 for Trinity really impressed me, I heard he's only a sophmore, but he can play some ball and I didn't get to see Quick play did he get any pt in the 2nd half?

This should be a good game. I look forward to playing them in basketball, now football........

Good win. Makes me think that Holmes should be somewhere around #3 or #4 instead of #1 in KY right now. Trinity is a top 15 team for sure.

Trinity just gets after opponents on defense and really frustrated Powder Springs (Ga.) McEachern in a 69-46 victory. Josh Sewell was huge for Trinity with 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Taylor Epley had 11 points. Two sophomores - Charles Foster and Nathan Dieudonne - are going to be really good down the road. Dieudonne has some freaky athletic ability and threw down a couple of nice dunks.

I was really impressed with the way Josh Sewell responded to Trinity coach Mike Szabo's challenge to guard future Vol Trae Golden. Sewell clearly has the offensive skills, but it was his defensive effort that fuelled the Rocks.

Golden finished with 17 points.

GA whole offense was Golden going one on one so holding him to 17 was pretty good. Holmes couldn't stop him in the 4th and that's part of the reason they got beaten.

I would say this was a total team defensive effort. Every time Golden went off a screen Trinity had someone there to slow him down and he eventually wore down in the second half.

I totally agree, but it sends a message to your entire team when the coach puts your BEST offensive player on the opponent's BEST player.

Golden was 5 for 14 from the field in that game. It was the free throw line where he did his damage...13 for 16.

I agree though about Trinity's team defense. They did the same thing against Ballard and really frustrated them the whole game in a losing effort. Trinity play a tough, hard nose defense and play fundamental basketball on offense.
