FINAL from Buckley's Creek. The Pikeville Panthers take the win tonight as Blake Charles scores four times in the game. Sophomore Zach Roberts puts him name in the scoring column with an eight yard td run. Andrew McNamee scores on a 36 yard td strike from Wyatt Battaile. Battaile was 11 of 14 through the air for 25 yards, and a td. as the Panthers stayed with the ground game for the most part. Congrats to the Panthers on the win.

This will be a good game for the Panthers, going into the post season. Pike Central's QB has done a fine job running the O. He can do both, through the air, as well as on the ground. PC has a good RB as well. No stats on him, but he does a fine job. Pikeville has some starters that have been banged up, but should be good to go in this one. Starting RB for the Panthers, Evan Rhodes is finished for the season with an injury, but some backups have proven themselves in the later part of this season. Pikeville just needs to play their game, cut down on the fumbles, come out the gate and score fast and maintain their drives with no penalties. One thing they cannot do is overlook the Hawks because they can score fast, and want redemption on the huge loss from last season.

Finally starting to see the community here in Macon Co. TN. get excited about their football team. A new HC and staff a couple of years ago is begining to see some results.

Final from the WC Hambley Athletic Complex in Pikeville. As expected the Pikeville Panthers defeated the Jenkins Cavaliers in a Homecoming game that saw a multitude of Panthers in the endzone. Jenkins gave it their best, but too many horses for the Panthers. Pikeville goes to 7-2 on the season, and will visit the Pike Co. Central Hawks next Friday evening. Game time 7:30 pm.

About the only thing that could be said about this game is Pikeville's JV will get plenty of reps. Just hope it's injury free.

Good road game for Pikeville. Lucasville Valley played a tough game and were a determined bunch. Probably the best 0 - 7 team Pikeville's seen in a while. Wyatt Battaile was 11 of 14 passing for 156yds and a 74 yd td pass. He rushed for 110 yds on 7 carries. Blake Charles had 3 tds, and 98 yds rushing. He was named ''Community Trust Bank player of the game''. Don't have official defensive stats on Blake Charles at this time, however he played a fine defensive game to earn the honor. Congrats to the Panthers.

This game was like two heavy weights going at it all night. Wyatt Battaile was 12 of 13 passing for 92 yds., 128 yds on the ground, and one int. on defense, and I think two tds. Also Community Trust Bank player of the game. No complete stats on Blake Charles at this time, but he did have 104 rushing yds., and two tds. Hazard has a fine team as they are much improved from last season. Blair, Smith, and Johnson stood out, and all three did a great job for the Dawgs.

As of now, everyone is 100%, and ready to go. How's the Bulldawgs healthwise ?

This will be a great game to watch. A lot of hype, and a lot is at stake. Hazard is improved over last season, no doubt. I think Pikeville wins this one, but by a closer margin than the past few yrs. As long as everyone for Pikeville remains healthy, then it's Pikeville's game to win.

Not seen Trinity play, but my money would be on Belfry. I too would travel a long distance to see this one. Who can beat them ?

I guess we'll see when the polls come out next week. I hope both you and VOR are correct . However in the whole scope of things, what really matters is how a football team finishes. As they say "the polls are for the fans". I will say this, and I truly believe it to be true. After the Belfry game, I really don't think Pikeville will lose a game on it's regular season schedule. Now, that's no offense to you bac. Your Bulldawgs are stronger this season, and are going to be tough to beat. But win or lose, after Friday evening, Pikeville will be better for it. Jmo.

I am serious. However I think it all depends on how bad Pikeville would get beat, and how soon a running clock would go into effect. Think it would also depend on how far down on the roster, and how soon the young bucs would go in. Jmo.

Pikeville will not only drop after this week, but drop out of the top ten. I don't think any Pikeville fan will be fooled in thinking otherwise.

Pikeville came out firing on all cylinders tonight, even though many starters were out with injuries. Wyatt Bataille was nine of ten passing for 267 yds. RB Evan Rhodes was held out with ankle concerns. However Charles and Slone racked up the yardage and touchdowns with the ground game. No stats for them as of now. Running clock in the third qtr. Freshmen Blair and Hensley closed out the scoring with a touchdown apiece. Congrats to the Panthers on a good win tonight. Prayers for the Fairview player injured in the game.

True, and congrats to Kent Phelps. Got to remember too that if Andrew McNamee hadn't juggled and dropped a Wyatt Battaile pass in the end zone with a minute left in the game , it could have been a potential six point game or better. Can't go on ifs and buts though. Hard fought game, and looking forward to a second round.
