  1. Yes there are injures. I hope I don’t get into any HIPPA issues but this is what I know so far. Leatherneck: Has a little hitch in his getty up, but should be ready to go Friday. Sweeperboy: He’s day to day still nursing the shoulder, but Tracy should have him ready for Friday. Jbwill2: If he can get a ride to Ft. Thomas he should be good to go. Qryche11: Has refused to play. He says it’s basketball season. KYHoss: A game time decision. Apparently after the game last Friday evening he was complaining his legs felt like jello. ABC2: Is he still on the roster? Mexitucky: Still working on some transfer issues from up on the hill. We’re not even going there. Any updates on any Cov. Cath. injuries would also be appreciated.
  2. According to the Cov. Cath. radio guys Covington Catholic was 0-6 in third down conversions.
  3. I know I changed a few extra diapers when it off. But to answer your question I believe this senior class has had some pictures made with it. It would be cool to have for the last game this senior class will ever play at Highlands.
  4. No keyplayer not here we go For symbolic purposes only. I thought I made that pretty clear.
  5. Wonder what the chances would be of getting the cannon to the game this Friday night? NOT TO USE IT, but just having it there for the Highlands/Cov. Cath. game would be pretty special. NO INTENTION TO START A CANNON CONTROVERSY HERE.
  6. No they don't. They have lost 2 games out of the last 70 played.
  7. Wore down? I agree. All but on the last drive when it was time for big players to make big plays.
  8. Agreed Clyde! They'll have to play perfect to stay in it.
  9. Covington Catholic’s recent slow starts would be a concern if I were a Cov. Cath. fan. Against Conner, Rowan and Ashland the Cov. Cath. offense was an averge only 9 points better than their last three opponents at the half. While Highlands against Ryle, Boyd and Johnson Central was up an average of 45 points. I wouldn’t defer if I was Cov. Cath.
  10. Highlands is a much more physical team tonight.
  11. RU Cov. Cath. Drills Ashland.
  12. 56 to 0. With 8:00 left in the 3rd. Highlands won't but they could put up 100 tonight.
  13. I saw your latest post so it doesn't sound like you probably had all the information when you made your initial post. tdyballgame pretty much hit the nail on the head. When you're cleared you're cleared. You're not limited to taking semi hard hits or playing half the game. The tests to get back are pretty substantial and exhaustive. This IMO will be game as usual for Highlands. If Towles's performance and or more importantly his health was in any danger by playing Friday night, I'm confident in saying he wouldn't be playing. Towles is playing because he's 100% and this will be a great game in preparation for the playoffs.
  14. Though sincere, the post is saturated with ignorance.
  15. It's hard to believe they can't tell whether it's broken or not. You can get back quicker I think with surgery. He's a very nice player I certainly hate to hear this.
  16. This will be the last time I'll comment on the hit, which I'm sure many will be thrilled with, but the waters are getting muddied a little bit. msdjsim used the word dirty which is irrelevant. Intent is not an element in a high school football rule infraction occuring on the field. How many kids that jump off sides mean to jump off sides? Probably none, nevertheless it's a penalty. You left out the word "back." It was a blow to the back of the head. Msdjsim if we adopt your understanding of the play then head to head blows to the back of a player's head are permitted as long as they're not dirty. The picture being shown does not do the hit justice. I do appreciate the fact that you viewed the hit and though I don't agree with your opinion of what you saw I certainly respect it.
  17. Joe. God bless ya!
  18. You're right Joe, he has an innate ability to keep his butt suspended in the air. Highlands players may walk on water:D, but they’re not very good at levitating. Watch the video Joe. Thanks for the update on the NCC game.
  19. It is only by the grace of God that Towles did not get his neck broken on this play. I was trembling after watching the tape and I am not being overly dramatic. What is troubling is that the hit was a helmet to helmet hit in the back of the head while a player is sitting on the ground. What is more troubling is that there was an official at the four yard line five yards away from the play. He was facing the Highlands cheering section and looking directly at the play. The other official (white hat) #2 was standing at the 20 yard line and was totally focused on the play. I am asking something that I've never done before, but I think it's appropriate. I am asking my Bluegrasspreps brethren to put all of our petty differences aside and help me bring this to the attention of as many as possible. Anyone that can obtain a video of this play and either post it on You Tube or wherever, I would certainly appreciate it. My goal is that by circulating this play on the internet is that #1 these particular officials receive additional training in recognizing not only illegal but potentially paralyzing hits and #2 as a wake up call to all to show how when not played correctly, how dangerous this game can be. I no longer give a darn about a holding call, a pass interference call, or offsides, but I do give a darn about the lack of enforcement of play that could have potentially not just ended a football career, but the basic bodily functions needed for everyday life. I ask that you watch the play before supporting me or bashing me, that is all. Thank You
