Surprise or what it should have ended up?

Great atmosphere in Ashland tonight. Loved the stadium. Loved the field. Grass was in great shape.

 

CCH took over early and it was really over early despite it only being 14-0 at halftime. Solid work by Ashland D in the first half. Played pretty well. First play of the 2nd half Gabe took it 60 yards for a TD and it was really over at that point. Ashland does not have a "come back offense." The QB is a tough kid but he's more of an athlete playing QB than a throwing QB. Strong effort by the CCH D tonight.

 

I'd still like to see the offense be more consistent but 35 it still 35.

I swear I thought I knew the illegal procedure rule. After tonight I'm not so sure.

Just got home and I am too tired and it's too late to post too much but I wanted to thank the kind folks at Greenup County HS for allowing CovCath to use their cafeteria and rest room as a stopping off point prior to our game with Ashland tonight. Thank you!!!!

 

Huge crowd of CovCath fans along with a large fan base of Tomcats fans in attendance...... and I will echo Clyde above comment about thinking I understood what illegal procure was.:idunno:

Oh and the Ashland TD? I can't wait to see the film on it, as it sure looked like the young man knee hit the ground at the 2 yard line before going in to score through my filed glasses!

What were the illegal procedure calls that you guys are confused about? I wasn't at the game, and didn't get to listen to the game, so I'm interested to see what happened. Congrats to the Colonels on the win, and to the Tomcats on a good season.

Tough loss for the Tomcats, but congrats on another good season. Congrats to Cov Cath on the win.

I can think of at least 5 that seemed like obvious false start/illegal procedure calls where the center was very slow on the snap as compared to the offensive tackles/tight ends. We all see one missed sometimes. Maybe 2. Last night was just odd.

We all judge a school and community by the few people we come into contact with(see Highlands Johnson County thread). I like when you're visiting a place and the fans of the local team are hospitable. While standing outside before the game last night wearing CCH gear a gentleman from Ashland walked right up to me and stuck his hand out and said "Welcome to Ashland," shook it, and then kept on walking. Just like when I was at Ole Miss last year.

There won't be a new stadium, the plans are just to remodel the existing stadium.

My cousin's boy is the center for Ashland. I'll have to ask him what the problem was last night. I'll ask him if he is just slow, or the line was firing off early. LOL

I think it was the line. Happened 3 times on the first series. But, hey, it's not a penalty if there is no flag thrown.
