There won't be a new stadium, the plans are just to remodel the existing stadium.

 

I was under the impression that while the complex will be at the exact location, everything but the new concession stand well be knocked down and replaced!

 

While I can only say kind things about the Ashland fans....Fans from many of the local schools around the Ashland area while passing us at our table told us to beat Ashland in more than what I can say language on BGP's.

 

Funny thing is while HHS and CovCath are huge rivals, once one of us is gone, most of us will root for the other team to do well, as we back the local team!

 

Got a laugh when the PA guy told fans they were not allowed to use air horns and such but then began ringing that bell over the PA system while CovCath was at the line of scrimmage trying to set up a play!

You are correct in that they will be knocking down the existing concrete stands, and replacing them with metal bleachers. It was just way too expensive to redo the stands with concrete. They are also supposed to connect the end zone seats in front of the concession stands to both sidelines where it is completely enclosed on that end. There is a photo out there somewhere that I'll try to find, and post.

As far as the local fans rooting against the Tomcats, and vise versa, that is unfortunately the case more often than not with a lot of the fans in our area. I for one always root for the local teams. I never have understood rooting against the kids from your area. I think one of the reasons a lot of opposing fans root against Ashland is that Ashland dominated the area in both football and basketball for so many years, and also the fact that too many Ashland fans have acted so cocky and arrogant over the years.
