First of all, who would want tp bragg about beating a Russell County team that ended the season 1 and 10. The score was 45-6 when Chuck Smith showed his class by not trying to score, when the final outcome could have so much worse. The facts are what they are and I am sure Black n' Gold was right on with what he reported. In my original comment, the only thing I questioned was why the RC coach didn't let more of his reserves at least get into a playoff game when the out come had been decided early on. I know the 50 or more kids Boyle played in the game certainly enjoyed that opportunity. I am sure that coach had his own reasons to play the game out the way he did.

I like Boyle over Knox Central 42-7. Boyle needs to continue their improved play and I think they will.

As PP said earlier it was a running clock with 4 mins to go in the 2nd quarter. Boyle stopped trying to score then and took a knee twice deep in Russell Co territory before half. Boyle's defense played the first series after halftime then the JV's and freshmen played out the rest of the game both ways. The Russell C. coach kept his starters in for the remainder of the game. Why wouldn't at least let your reserves play some in the last game of the season? Maybe his job is on the line and he was trying to save face with his varsity scoring against Boyle's freshmen.

I say Boyle 49- Russell Co. -0. I think Boyle is playing their best football of the season right now. Really want to see the Boyle defense maintain their high level of intensity that they have shown in the last few games.

Boyle had a running clock with 10 minutes left in 2nd quarter. Played JV's and freshmen most all of last half. MS scored on the last play of the game with their starters in against mainly freshmen. I think MS had 4 starters out for the game and of course the main one being Harris. I hope they do well in the playoffs. 3rd Game in a row where Boyle's 1st team defense did not give up any points.

Great season and nice win last night against West Jessamine. Boyle was missing 4 starters including their starting QB. I thought the kids that replaced them did a great job. Congratulations.

It would have been very interesting with Harris playing. I don't blame Madison Southern for holding him out until next week, because this game doesn't mean anything other than their won-lost record. I don't think they would have beaten Boyle, when you look at some of their results when he was playing. It looks like they have a real shot to advance in the playoffs if he is back to full strength.I would love to watch him play.

I don't know where some of you came up with the idea that Chuck Smith won't schedule schools where friends coach. The only team that he would not schedule is South Warren where his son is the head coach. Two of the better money games on the Boyle schedule beside Danville are Mercer and Lincoln. These are good games for the fans and for income for the schools athletic funds. Boyle always takes a big crowd to their away games. The only reason you are hearing this rumor is because Pardue does not want to have face Chuck Smith coached teams. I am sure his principal would not want to lose their biggest money game of the year, since Boyle would play at Mercer next year. With Travis Leffew coaching at Lincoln, the same situation.

Starks, according to you they are overrated this year as well. They just put 51 on Mercer who has all of these fabulous athletes and Boyle according to you has none. Did you actually watch the game? Mercer won the last game last year,but Boyle was not overated. They had already beaten Lex. Cath. and won the district regular season. I really hope that Mercer stays on Boyle's schedule because I am really going to miss your analysis and rating system of teams and players. By the way, I don't buy the reason about the two teams not playing because of the coaches friendship. This happens in sports all the time. I think Pardue can't get Boyle off his schedule fast enough just for similar reasons as you saw last night.

Pardue will keep his job. They had a tough schedule this year and with all their injuries there weren't many opportunities for wins on that schedule. The loss last night wasn't as bad as the way they lost. Outside of Mercer Co. fans, few people gave them a chance to win that game anyway. One thing they can feel good about is not having to play Boyle in the future.

I thought that this loss knocked Mercer out of the playoffs. I believe that their loss to Marion Co. is the deciding factor. I don't think it is a coin toss situation. Anyone know for sure?

I agree with Hog Town. It is a shame that many of the natural rivalries throughout the state have been lost because in part to this watered down 6 class system. Boyle will pick up Garrard next year which will help, but I think the majority of Mercer and Boyle fans would love to se this rivalry continued.

The Collins team is very good with size and speed and a nice QB. This Boyle group will only get better. Their regular QB was still out with the injury which did hurt them some. The Boyle JV's had a very good year and many of these kids will be starters next year on the varsity.

Sounds like to me that Mercer should be the favorite in the game if these guys are unstoppable according to Starks. If Boyle has no one that can catch them I guess it would be smart to keep them in front of you. I think that is how you play good defense rather than trying to catch someone from behind.

Boyle gets some kids back as well. Mercer is not the only team that had kids out. That is football, you play with who you have available.

Remember that last Friday Boyle had Marion down 38 with a running clock at their place to begin the 4th quarter and played mainly JV's to finish the game. That is the same Marion Co. team that beat Mercer two weeks ago.

I like Boyle 28-7. Looks like Boyle's defense is beginning to play better and if the offense can get by without so many penalties this team could be very good from here on out. Mercer will not make the playoffs this year!

Boyle completely dominated despite many penalties. Running clock . Marion scored 2 late TD's, but nothing against Boyle's 1st team defense.

I see Chuck Smith smiling when he sees these freshmen, and the Middle school just finished their regular season undefeated as well.

Congratulations to the Eagles for a great season. I know the Rebel fans will enjoy seeing these kids at the high school next year. Very talented group.

This is why you have the playoffs, to answer these questions . You can't blame South Warren because their schedule may be weaker this year. All they can do is take care of business by winning until someone proves they are better on a given night.

Nice comment Lex. I was saying some of the same things about LC when people were writing them off for those three early losses. I do think we will see a rematch in Nov. I am sure both teams will make changes and improvements these next few weeks. Should be another great game.
