Who wins and why?

Boyle wins 35-7.

I like Boyle over Knox Central 42-7. Boyle needs to continue their improved play and I think they will.

I think Knox will keep the game closer than most expect with the poor field conditions I'm hearing.

Knock yourself out, if it floats your boat. I think it would keep the game closer. I expect and will be shocked if Boyle was not to come away with a win. A few in here have Boyle favored by 4 to 5 touchdowns. I just don't see it. Bad field I don't see Boyle getting 5 touchdowns. :lol2:

Joking aside, if it doesn't rain the field will be fine. Not pretty, but fine. It's Bermuda with a sand base. Outside the hash marks it just brown. Between marks it's getting pretty bare. If it rains, it'll be muddy. Overall, it's better than what we played on in my day.

Why would they not play the game at Union College if the field conditions would be questionable? Did they not play the Taylor County game at Union?

Same here. Boyle had problems back in 2009 with their field. Moved a playoff game to Centre College while they worked on the field for the Bell County game. That was the last home game before Boyle installed turf.

 

Looking forward to a trip back to Barbourville. I use to sell to Knox Cash Jobbers back in the 80's. Believe the owner was Henry Evans?

We've only played 3 games at home this season but we started a soccer program this year and that's been hard on the field. I think we'll be seeing turf in the next couple of years.

 

Yes, I believe it was a Mr. Evans. Business was there for many years. It's a pawn shop now.

Because it's home and Union would be more of a neutral site. Sure it's close, but it's a strange field, strange locker room etc. So far it's not rained this week.

I had the opportunity to check the field today and it's actually much better than I thought. Only bare spot seems to be right at midfield, the rest is almost normal. If it were my call, that's where we'll play. (subject to change with the weather, normal rain won't hurt much. Down pours are different.)
