How ever you cut it I'm happy for Coach Graham, it was known the man got some raw deals at Harrison county over the years and with this move it gives him at least a chance for a state championship. So whatever went down I'm looking at it as a great opportunity for one of the greatest men in Kentucky high school football.

Is Morrow still at J-Town? If he is you would have to consider them the lock to get the kid since the Pitino/Morrow connection is tight going back to the days of Morrow being a manager with Rick at Kentucky.

Wonder how the break down of expenses goes for a tourney like that? I would assume you would have to at least take a charter bus becuase in no way would a standard bus be enjoyable that far away. Is there a Beach Ball Classic committee who helps or picks up a tab for this and all expenses?

That's a big honor for GRC, especially with it being a county school in Kentucky. Might be and probably leaving somebody out but off the top of my head of Kentucky county schools that have been invited Elliott County 09 and Clay County multiple times in the late 80's come to mind.

What I was thinking would be to have a fictious high school and town like they have in Friday Night Lights but make all other circumstances as they are in regards to the trial and tribulations of making it to the Sweet 16. I think for any show to be worth it's while there would have to be a winning team involved and we as Kentuckians would want the team to make it to Rupp Arena to show the best of our state for the rest of the nation. Also the show would want to touch upon the different socio-economic levels in some of the county schools among the different students as well as the Kentucky way of life and how the inner workings/politics that are in play in each of our 120 counties. Lastly, I would want the show to touch upon the importance of winning the Sweet Sixteen and the importance it not only holds for 16,17, and 18 year olds but the importance it holds for everybody in some communities. How winning a high school basketball tournament can and has shaped many of lives, example Richie Farmer. I just think somebody should pitch this but the only problem is being labled the basketball version of a football show.

I've often wondered how a show with the same premise as Friday Night Lights would do in regards to Kentucky high school basketball, what's other's opinions? Would the show be of interest to you, do you think it would be a success or does Kentucky high school basketball pack the same punch as Texas high school football?

What was Timmy Knipp's situation in this game, was he out on the floor or down on the block?

Looks like a possible Mr. Basketball preview with the big three in Frankfort which I would assume the Lexington media market will pick up. Timmy needs stuff like this to create the buzz as his natural media markets are in another state along with his competition for the award being in Lexington's back yard hurts somewhat.

Simon Kenton 1981 might be the last of a dying breed, when I say that I'm referencing the importance it carried not only to that team but a community, region and it some regards a state. I think the only team that has came remotely close is Elliott County 2009 and they didn't seal the deal like the Pioneers did. Just seeing a time and era where basketball and a team was the most importance to a community was real special, I just think with all the other options these moments are a thing of the past. GREAT STORY, a must see for anybody who didn't watch this and loves KENTUCKY basketball!

I think the viewing will be blacked out in Maysville and surrounding communities! Just kidding, watched it last night very well done piece and makes you proud to be a Kentuckian. Loved the story at the end were the gentleman recounts Troy McKinley beating Rick Pitino at Joe B. Hall basketball camp in a game of horse, that was priceless.

You are totally right on the above statement, the summer of 2006 I believe he would have went to Siberia to get out of Falmouth. I think he thought Ashland was going to be every season state tournament appearance but he got blindsided by the Elliott County group and I just thought maybe he would consider Campbell County. Saying that I agree with what you stated, seems like he chases the talent!

I can't believe this name didn't come up in the Holmes search, but would James "Buddy" Biggs be interested in the Campbell County job? I heard they made a run at him after the Pendleton County 05-06 teams but nothing ever came about it. With him at Ashland currently and more than likely stuck behind Elliott County for a state tournament trip would he consider making a move for himself that fits better with his roots?

Just the overall negative vibe that comes from the Scott County program has to be catching up to or effecting Billy, not saying any is his fault but it is still there. Bud Mackey is still a dark cloud that hangs over that school and when you add all the other issues it just has to burn a person out somewhat!

In no way are the Brossart, Scott and Campbell jobs better than Pendleton County job. Just by fan support alone they would seem to top all three of these schools mentioned above, the Wildcats have great support.

What school or schools would you replace Pendleton with? I would even consider maybe putting it in the third slot behind Mason and Clark.

I think it would be good for Billy to get out of Georgetown get back to the mountains and make a 5-6 year end of career run at Clay County. He just needs to get his batteries charged back up and leave all the trouble behind. He has always said he will retire in the mountains and I think he would have left years ago but Mrs. Hicks kinda likes the convenience of Georgetown with the closeness to Lexington.

Has anybody heard or is anybody totally shocked Buddy Biggs didn't make a run at this job?

No way Simms takes that job, Pendleton County is one of the top four jobs in the tenth along with Mason, Clark and Montgomery. Can't see him wanting to take over the reigns at one of the worst jobs in the tenth in Campbell County. Only job I would assume Chad Simms wants is at Mason County High School!

I can't see many wanting the job really, in a twenty year span if they have two-three cracks at a regional cahmpionship I would be shocked. I expect them to follow the very same pattern Ryle has since it opened in the early 90's. Those schools out there have no fan support for half the students probably migrated over the river and their take on on "real" Kentucky high school basketball is really distorted!

Yeah I think before the end of the year there will be a many of schools kicking themselves they didn't hire Scott Hundley before Woodford. I can probably think of one school in Cynthiana, Kentucky that wish they had went in that direction.

I think start the state tourney on Tuesday afternoon which would put the semifinals and finals in the primetime glare of Friday and Saturday night! The Saturday morning semifinals is not fan friendly.

Should be Tim Sullivan. He did a GREAT job at Mason Co. with his energy and getting that 2006 team to the state tournament. All of the players that played for him loved him, as he helped each and every one of them get better. All of the players hated to see him go when he left. If we was still there you might of been looking at back to back state championships from Mason Co. Yes in my mind he made that much of a difference. He knows the game very well and would be an excellent fit at Holmes!
