How did Davis play last night?

Coldiron is a very tough and demanding Coach. I know this firsthand. If you lay down on him or don't give full effort then you can forget playing. I don't know anything about the situation up there, but I have to agree with Plato to an extent. Unless you are there every day, there is no way to know.

Jason Coldiron shattered one messing around in PE. Problem was, he was also the starting QB and it was Friday before a game. Cawood High School.

Does your constant bashing of the coaching staff on here help the team? I'd say some of them read this and I just don't see any way this helps them out.

I can assume most of the HHS fans are classy and I aplogize to those that are. The few select ones on here have alsanted my view. I'm heading to Harlan in a few minutes for Thanksgiving and I hope to see a town ready for a state semi.

I never had a problem with Highlands when I was in HS. We lost to them once and Cov Cath once back when it was the 1st rd matchup and we were outmatched in both games. Just the last 3 days of reading the comments from the Highlands fans has now shown me why everyone I knew struggled to give them any respect. No class in the way you all win. I hope the players and coaches aren't as arrogant and disrespectful as the fans on here. Good luck to HC, play hard and don't give up...you've had an amazing run in 3 short years. Better things to come.

I know it has been a long time since I lived in Kentucky and really got to follow HS football reguarly, but by reading Sweeperboy I guess Highlands hasn't lost a game since I graduated and moved on...I know they are awesome, I guess I just didn't realize they were invincible. Good luck HC, you will obviously need every single thing to go right.

From the looks of this thread, my boys from HC are going to need some 1980 Lake Placid mojo...or maybe some Jimmy Chitwood "picket fence" heroics to beat the unbeatables this Friday. I hope they can keep it close and show the fans of HC and those of HHS that they came to play.

It was David Hensley, he was All State that year and a beast. I would say unfortunately he underachieved at EKU. He put on some weight and moved to fullback. I saw him a few weeks ago and he looked like he was 18 again. Man is spending some serious time in the weight room.

HC would have to play nearly perfect I'd imagine. I wont count them out though.

Alcoa is for real. I've watched them a few times since moving to TN and they are an absolute maching. The only game they usually lose is to Maryville, crosstown rival tht is two classes up and usually wins their state class as well. Alcoa beat them last year and is predicted to beat them again. No shame in losing to them at all.

I remember that year well. Was my SR. Year at Cawood High School and Bell had a good team, but they were outmatched for the Turkey Bowl.

Thanks HDE. I'm just a tad to young to have watched Coach play at Cawood, but I was on the losing side of several games of HORSE during PE during my time at JACHS.

Is Coach Coldiron still at Lafayette and how did Jackson Davis look? I worked with his father in Lexington and I'm curious as to how he is progressing.

Oddly enough, the year UH won the BB Classic in 95, the only Kentucky team to ever win it they didn't even win the Kentucky All 'A' Classic. Great semifinal game that they lost that year.

It is the same player you mentioned. Yes, his father played HS ball in Pensacola and I think he was a Parade All America (don't quote me on that). He played 3 years for UK and then was the "original Rod Rhodes" if you will (Pitino pushed him out). Williard and Pitinio set it up for him to finish up at WKU, but he chose to stay at UK and get his degree there. He is one of the nicest people I've had the pleasure to be around and is a very successful business person in Lexington.

GT, would love to hear your take on him after you see him play. I usually agree with your report on players.

Nice, thanks for the update. I want to plan a trip to Lexington during BBall season and see him play. I have lobbied JD to get the Generals in the Arby's Classic in Bristol - about 20 mins from my house.
